Jhope not doing well on charts…should he switch up his sound?

  • Girl I'm not being biased but jhope is the only one out of rapline who had an actual hit. You forgot chicken noodle soup? HW1 had bigger impact. He's not even my bias. Suga have had hits but the acts he collaborated with were already big ( heize, IU, psy are digitally well known).

i do agree to some extent, it’s just i feel like suga has nailed the gp’s vibe down while jhope is clearly exploring himself a little more. in the future, this may change. suga’s also a bit more popular which may help him in the long run. he’s got a lot of hits under his belt even if they’re collabs, which will help generate some hype for his releases. longevity is a different matter.

  • I feel like hybe is just rushing everything atp. like the announcement of their hiatus as a group was totally fine but releasing collabs and solos right after the anthology album was released? it doesn't let the songs marinate and allow for armys to focus on them only. the boys also need time for their solo fanbases to grow. over the years, armys have bashed anyone who isn't a dedicated ot7 army. this totally killed a large portion of the hype other kpop groups would eventually receive when they go solo. either way, everyone needs to calm down. after all, it's just a pre-released b-side that hasn't gotten much promo yet and isn't even a day old lmao. we don't know how the tt will do yet

  • Why is anyone surprised? Visuals always win in Kpop and Hobi doesn't have them. He's always been hard carried by the more popular members like Tae, JK and Jimin.

We all know Lollapalooza had to settle for him coz they couldn't get the whole BTS.

Someone is looking for you. Show yourself.

JHope so happy to show is this side of him, he is so happy to show is his growth, to show is his journey, he is the real artist

He’s one of the coolest members internationally and he just cemented that.

    Also I’d do him

  • More isn’t exactly an easily digestible song. It’s very experimental and the moment I heard I knew exactly that it won’t really do well especially on k charts

  • J-hope probably knows this song won't vibe with gp anyway but he said fuck it i'm doing whatever i want because he now doesn't have to worry about money or success since he has plenty of this as a member of BTS already. He's exploring, experiencing and diversifying his genres. The song seems to be made with the purpose of expressing himself and the overall concept of the album more than pleasing gp. Good for him tbh and i hope the rest of BTS take risk and explore music like him too. Kpop are getting boring recently so these kinds of music feels like breath of fresh air to me.

  • He is releasing this for self expression, not charts. As a BTS member, he has already done enough for running after charts by singing public friendly songs.

  • i love seeing all the armys getting into noise music. guess it just took the right artist!

  • I agree on the English lyrics. I would have enjoyed it more if it was all in Korean. So once again I remember why Korea in general has little interest in KPop, it probably mostly sounds very basic to them. It's funny that Soyeon's English rap was so big in Korea, like a total reversal of the norm for western fans.

  • J Hope chose the arts, and not the charts. Regardless if you think the quality of the arts may be questionable, it is "arts" nonetheless.

he is doing alright. no need for concerns. Korean charts are not the end of the world and he knows that song is not gp friendly but he still released it and fans are happy

  • op your thread did not age well. i just saw in the main that j hope is doing well even if the song is a b side.

    anyway. congrats to you armyS

Chicken Noodle Soup was a remake of the already classic hit song. CNS was a song that blew up when I was still in elementary school. That's like saying if J-hope did a remake of Daddy Yankee's Gasolina. Of course it was bound to well.

  • And to answer op, I don't think he cares about charts anymore.

Let him do his own thing in peace.
