My country is so little that meeting celebrities, or knowing some personally, is not that uncommon.

Andrew Hoy - an Australian Olympic Gold medallist in Equestrian in Atlanta in '96. He was having a meet and greet in his home town which isn't far away from me and I got his autograph and got to hold his medal - heavy too. He was a nice bloke.
