He has always been popular and now with solo activities going on. He’s popular on insta because let’s face it it’s a visual platform and his visuals are insane. Ngl he’s able to shine more outside of group activities.

because bighit/hybe has been restricted him all these years within group's activities so people had no idea how charismatic he is. now he's in the public's eyes with these solo appearance, ofc people will notice him more.

not only him but i think once the other members start their own solo promotions, they will get new fans for sure because each member has interesting characters and unique taste which are easily to love but got overshadowed by the name BTS. people will soon realize what made BTS so popular is really just the wonderful members themselves.

Go watch bts content, you'll rarely see taehyung in those bangtan bombs and special performance, on the top of that he never had IG. If it was all due to jennie how come he has the most IG followers, most followers on Spotify in 2022, his bar bought the most copies again this year and had only ost to chart on bb100. Even with the bare minium he was doing good so it's no surprise he's blowing up with solo acitivtes.
