  • Damn this thread is embarrassing….lol

Just confessing my true nature y’all

  • I second that. I love saving money more than spending. I'm such a scrooge and only spend my money on rent, food and bills. Money - can't have enough of it.

insurance is too expensive in the us!! I rlly hate parting with my money sigh. Gotta be careful and budget, I’ve seen too many friend go into debt cuz they swipe that credit card without da money!

Plus the interest rate and inflation are rising. We’re hitting a recession here. Not looking pretty

  • The cost of living is insane here. Fuel is $2 a litre, food prices have gone through the roof, interest rates are soaring and so are power bills. I am luckier than most though as I am sensible with my money and do a fortnightly budget and know what I spend every dollar on. The prices don't need to be as high as they are and I think there's a bit of price gouging going on.

Definitely. Gas is $5 in my area. Luckily I don’t drive and take the bus eyy.

But the price of groceries is ridiculous! Very shocking and I’ve had to cut back! I heard target is slashing prices tho cuz ppl are not buying as much.

5$ gallon is not that much. In my country gas cost 2.6€ liter which is equal to 10$+ gallon

  • $5 per gallon is considered expensive in the US since we have to drive everywhere. We don’t have good public transportation unless you’re in NY or DC. I have to fill up my car 2-3x per week

eyy! its true. I'm lucky where I live has a decent bus system, but in other areas ppl travel miles to work and its hella expensive!

  • I have to fill up my car 2-3x per week

Can you explain that a bit further?

I just calculated that if I were to go through 3 tanks of fuel per week, that would require me driving the equivalent of 1545 miles. Are you really driving anywhere close to that in a week?

what kind of car gets 1500+ Miles in one full tank? My car holds about 12 gallons with an mpg of 34 highway. So a full tank of gas gives me 408 miles. I travel for work which requires me to drive 50 miles one way 3-4x a week. I also live quite a miles away from places I usually go to.

That 1545 mile figure is for 3 tanks worth of fuel (= 3 × 20.6 gal × 25 mpg).

But wow, 100 miles of commuting per day is rough.

Ouch. Thankfully my workplace is close so I only need to fill my tank 1 - 2 times per month, but it still hurts once a full tank of gas costs almost 100 bucks. If I used public transportation, it would cost two more hours of my day.

    to me time > money

yes. At least I’m getting paid to travel but for some it’s their norm here
