    Their Chinese bars are huge it’s impressive they’ve built a huge fanbase like that in a short time

    we only know when the sales number come out, there's no point in speculating it right now. With these numbers they should be charting on BB 200 and other charts

    I'm surprised and quite don't believe it, idk why. are they next BTS?

    their other numbers are not really rising (streaming services) so are these chinese sales only or where all this is coming from?

    True or not it shows to me how people underestimate South Korean popularity.


    The Chinese bars obviously hard carry a bit but groups with large South Korea popularity selling a lot is a common pattern yet people continuously underplay the market in recent years due to the globalisation of kpop.

    SM is hilarious. Feel bad for them, when the streams and views come in it's gonna be bad.

    All I will say is for the album to be selling this much they should have amazing streams and views (sans ads) to back it up. Illusion didn't even chart on Global 200 with extensive play listing so...interesting


    But people should also consider digipacks, which are around 10-12 USD. Say you have 100 dollars to spend on the album. You can buy around 10 digipacks, which is the equivalent of 50 sales just from one person. I'm sure Chinese fans have a lot more than a 100 dollars lying around. So yeah, it may add up but it just goes to show how meaningless kpop album sales have become

    they ran of stock repeatedly on target, Walmart, ktown and other stores. If SM were over-shipping this would not have happened especially not this early. Besides Hanteo isn’t that great of a measure. BP’s the album still did not pass 1m on Hanteo. after two years its still 800k there and 1.5 on Gaon. so i wont expect difference outcome for aespa.

    Even if true it's stock pre-order but still not impossible with the amount of gimmicks and bulk buying. The "digipacks" are what album sales needed to be even more artifitially inflated

    No and you don't need to be anti aespa or sm to reach said conclusion. If 300-400k are from china who's buying the rest? You gotta be delusional to think they have more fans than twice or bp to make up for the rest. Common sense really

    Notice how we didn't get such threads for groups like enhypen and txt. You all really hate SM and their groups too much, it's beyond unhealthy at this point.

    We'll see when the title drops, but given that Illusion was a hype pre released b-side with a push on Apple and had a lot of playlisting(including number 21 on NMF USA) and still couldn't manage to pull 800k filtered streaming? Didn't get a single day in the Spotify or Apple global charts and was down to less than 400k daily streams before the first week was over?

    Even the video views are bad, 5.5m in nearly 3 weeks? 400k likes? SM has set them up.

    Y’all really think everyone has a hate boner for SM. Y’all SM Stans need to chill. It’s not about an SM group selling that much, but a GG that is not Bp selling an unusually high amount of albums. So ofc people are going to question it. If Aespa really grew that much they’ll prove everyone else wrong either way

    I'd say 1.5 m is in the realm of possibility but mys don't want to celebrate first since it's only from one source.

    as always when it's sm groups, you gotta doubt and make conspiracies, always. Do yall forgetting that 300k chinese bar is from a week only? I can guarantee you that it will be much higher as time goes on and when teasers are finally revelead. There is no point comparing to blackpink too. I can guarantee you blackpink can sold much much higher than their last album, 2021 is really the year when every group got massive sales boost and it still continue. Use your brains for once.

    Don't act like users here weren't making the same type of threads questioning and calling nct resonance sales a fraud too because they couldn't be legit million sellers and then when each unit did it too there were also tons of threads calling it SM mediaplay. Unlike txt and enhypen reaching million sales being celebrated by most users here and even anon threads weren't as harsh with them as with nct. Even this week both dream and 127 were getting shaded by users calling their million sellers lies and mediaplay

    Well idk since I dgaf about boy groups. Some people have called out SM for heavily inflating their group‘s sales so maybe you should blame SM themselves for making people distrust them.


    And if others are doing the same they ofc should be called out for it.


    And as for why people don’t call out IVE, BP and TWICE- it’s quite simple to be frank. The latter two are established second gen that have the views and streams to match their sales and the first is a hyped group that- guess what? Has the streams and views to match their sales.


    If Aespa were to match their album sales with streams and views this comeback then I think people would question their success less.


    It’s pretty much SM‘s fault that people doubt them, not some random hate boner. I actually like SM‘s music the most out of the big 3 but I can’t deny that it’s a sketchy company

    Let's just wait for the actual sales when it is out.

    And pls let's not compare them with bp, we know how their sales will double once they comeback
