With the amount of events that get hosted, it can easily get cluttered to have them all pinned. So we're trying to be mindful and keep it contained to the badge section.
The people who are really interested in specific events will usually be on the taglist too so that makes pinning a bit less necessary.
But I get the arguments against it. The badge section isn't that visited in general and it can be nice to get more people aware of events by pinning it in other sections. Though, usually I feel that might get like 2-3 people if any voting at best.
