The reason why 4th gen GGs can grow this fast is because BP never had total dominance like BTS does with BGs

    come one we all know why bts is selling less even though their fandom had doubled and even after the pandemic boom because they release less versions (only 2) and one them is literally 50+ dollars.

    I'm sure If any other group did this they would be selling like 500k max

    BP haven't had a comeback in almost 2 years though, completely bypassing the massive growth of album sales since 2020. All groups have seen an exponential rise in sales post pandemic and JYP and SM use that cheap digipack strategy to boost sales for some of their groups. So, not really that surprising that another girl group can sell 1M. Twice and IVE are going to hit that bench mark within the next year or two as well.


    If you think another gg selling 1M means that BP is not dominating, then BTS is not safe either. Proof will probably sell 2.5-3.5M. What happens when NCT 2022 sells 3M+ too? Will people rush in with the narrative that NCT have surpassed BTS?


    Even if another girl group can sell over 1M with an album, can their album dominate the way BP did in 2020? Two songs with 16+ weeks in Melon top 10, most streamed female kpop female group album on Spotify in history with over 2B streams, all b-sides on Melon 24 hits, most streamed female group album of all time on Melon (with #2 being Square Up). If so, then we can return to this narrative of BP being surpassed

    lol 4th gen stans already getting brave over bp just because of non shipped sales going to the dumpster and orphanages. Bp was, is and will be indisputed 1st place for a while, 4th gen does pathetic yt, spotify and social media numberw compared to them

    while i agree that the achievements of 4th gen ggs are super impressive, you can’t discount the fact that bp surpass them in nearly every other metric by far. that’s not to mention that when they come back their numbers are for sure looking at 2mil+

    People seem to forget that the album isn't only the best selling because of physicals, but in every other metric lol
