There are various contributing factors that can give a new group a boost in their guarantee as well as in the level of success and popularity.
Coming from a Big 4 company is 1 of those, but being the result of a popular, successful survival show might be another.
Which privilege do you think is more effective, taking both right off the bat as well as continuing success into account?

big 4 companies > produce in every aspect.
People like to think that being successful = have privilege. However, what privilege is that how the privilege able help the group to have a easier path to success than the other.
Being in a big company is guaranteed to be successful. Group will get more attention from the public in both internationally and domestically. People will keep talking about them. People will hype about the group comeback.
They will have much more longevity because people will keep having attention to the group.
Produce group gain popularity through their contract time as a group. However, group coming from big company being successful without doing anything and they gain insane amount of popularity from debut.
like you can't convinced me that how nmixx get 200k sales on their first week without people knowing anything about the group.
Eleven only sold 125k while lesserafim sold 300k for having both izone members and big 4.
People don't understand that yes IVE have Wonyoung/Yujin group, but it doesn't applied to global at all. Wonyoung's popularity is only limited to their Korea success, but big 4 is both globally and domestically. You all come talk about ive having privilege, yes they have, but only Korea at best. Their success globally is because their music appeal to the global market. You guy just mad that ive is doing better than your big 4 groups. 
People just casually ignoring the fact that almost all members of Produce groups (at least for the first few seasons) have strong individual recognition and stable solo careers. This isn't necessarily true for idols coming out of big 3 groups. Just by having that IOI and W1 label on them, they have landed and been offered lead drama roles already like 1 or 2 years into their career, which is absolutely unheard of for any 3rd gen idol groups. There are big stars in music like Chungha, Somi and Daniel, and Sejeong is the most successful actress in 3rd gen, there's also members who are booked and busy for like 5 years straight now like Ong Seongwu, Mina, Chaeyeon, Jihoon, etc.
Some may point out the groups didn't do well, but that has nothing to do with the Produce show itself, but more of a fault with the companies. The idols' careers themselves are essentially set just by being in the Produce group.

I think that the most popular survival shows give a better boost and edge at debut, while being part of the Big 4 is better in the long run.
If you check up on survival shows like for example Mnet's Produce series, YG's WIN show and K-pop Star, then most of the groups and artists coming from those shows did phenomenally and on par with (and sometimes better than) Big 4 groups and top solo artists at debut: IOI, Wanna One, IZ*One, YG's Winner and iKon, Lee Hi, Chung Ha, Yena, Yuri etc.
But that success and popularity that survival shows bring is very much frontloaded, it depends on the continued involvement of companies whether that success will last, and in this the Big 4 are more experienced and have more resources to make it last and grow for years.
