Or is Kpop too far ahead for any rising asian pop genres to compete with?
Could any other asian pop genres challenge Kpop in the near future?

Maybe? Thai pop?
Jpop and Cpop are already huge in their own right though.

Looks at all the Jpop from Anime and Games and thinks... Is Kpop even a household name at that level?
Even if anime is more mainstream than K-Pop, the rate of conversion to J-Pop is low. Not every anime fan listens to full anime songs. Only a few become a fan of the performing acts and even fewer of other J-Pop acts. To make things worse, for a long time, anime songs weren't legally available outside Japan, so they never capitalized on that. And, to this day, some still aren't.
And Japanese games barely have any J-Pop.

never tbh, other asian countries doesnt promote their music to the worldwide like korea do, also I assume they lack resources, connections and I think they come little bit cringe compared to kpop, also kpop is years ahead and has already established system, it will take other asian countries years to reach that level, at that time kpop would still be more ahead since koreans just dont stop

I thought jrock is more popular than jpop, no?
anyways i dont think every anime watchers are entusiastic jpop fans, japanese entertainment seems weird and cringe to foreign audiences, but anime is exception because it is in cartoon style. Live action anime adaptations are unbearably cringe

They could have capitalized on this before, when Kpop was much smaller.
There are indeed lots of anime fans who had/have at least a casual interest in Jpop. Problem is, they never capitalized on it and made it difficult for foreigners to look up songs, interact etc, as they focused almost exclusively on the domestic market. Now, things have flipped around and Kpop is way ahead.
They could still grow if they went all out focusing on other markets, but I don't think they are that motivated to do so.
