RE : Why do people feel so triggered and get upset when gidle is called a 4th gen group but not when straykids or ateez or izone is?

Why? Both debuted same year.
AOA and EXID also debuted the same year as exo but are still called 2nd gen. Most girlgroups that debuted in 2012 are 2nd gen. The biggest girlgroups from 3rd gen debuted later than the biggest boygroups in 4th gen. It's not the same. Idk why it should be different now. Anyways, this is my opinion so it doesn't really matter

I think we need to acknowledge the fact that BG and GG generations are not the same.
While there is a lot of overlap, it is different for them.

I see. I guess in a way concept and age they are closer to 3rd gen.
Again the whole 4th gen exists because the new groups couldn't keep up with 3rd gen top groups. So these 2018 groups fit it.
