Display MoreIt’s not only the things mentioned above but also the genre of a song matters.
Rap line does a lot of hip hop and rap that makes their music more inaccessible since it’s in Korean and we can’t appreciate their full bars and wordplay. Even among them, they have different styles. Jhopes music is very gp friendly and is well liked in the fandom and outside of it. Rm has a great style but it’s more suited to a niche audience. The people who love is really loved it. It’s simply not for everyone.
If we come to the ml line, v has the most solo stans but his streams are just okay. His fans will say it’s because the army fan base hate him or something but he has a very specific style or genre he does. Unfortunately it’s not the typical sound that’s popular with people. He further wants to do some jazzy stuff which will eventually affect his streams. I’m really glad he gets to express himself with music he prefers but what I’ve said about it still stands.
Jin has great songs but their sound is very much like korean ballads which are not that popular with international fans. He’s very popular in korea though and we can see that from how moon performed on melon. Epiphany also did amazing on streaming platforms.
Then we come to jimin and jungkook. Not only are they popular but they also make popular types of music. Its songs even non fans can enjoy casually and they have the voices that suit that type of music too. So it’s no surprise they’d get a bit more steams compared to others. Filter and euphoria still get a lot of streams even now and from non armys too.
There are so many factors to all this so I don’t think it’s fair to blame armys for only listening to one or two members solos when the fact is all the members songs are different and resonate with different audiences.
So much cherry picking of data going on here. Only solos blame ARMYs but ARMYs as a whole also need to accept that's it's okay if everyone doesn't support every member equally. It's impossible to do so and just pretending it doesn't happen won't make it go away.
More data stuff now-
Where is all this myth about V not having good streams coming from?
V gets good streams comparable to Jungkook and Jimin even. Just look at how stable have his osts been on Spotify. Jimin has the best streams overall though with Lie, Filter leading among all solo songs within the same era but serendipity also has 2 audios. It's both due to his solo fans + his songs are very loved. The amount of discrepancies being because of the type of songs is limited. One example being Moon and Inner Child. V has a much bigger fanbase but people just do not like Inner child as much and since Moon is more pop it is loved. Epiphany is loved by the fandom too and it has good streams. But this is more about solo projects and osts. How different were the osts to each other in genre?
And jhope has very gp friendly music and RM niche but why are their streams the same?
It's because they have similar popularity and support within fandom.
