I'm pretty sure that after a couple of months all of the twice members will have more followers than every single female kpop groups except blackpink members. if you don't count that as one of the most popular girl groups then everyone under them are literal nugu, on decline, has been or barely popular.
do note that some of the members already broke 3m+ followers, and it's not even 24hours since they made their accounts

if you're one of those top 1 or bust, then twice members are definitely not popular. with that logic, every single female kpop girl groups that the twice members beat in their followers' count are literal nugus.
they will be around 10-15m+ (depends on which member) by the end of the year; then will break 20-25m+ in a year+ from now (assuming they all renew)
hopefully, your other female kpop faves (not named blackpink) have more than that because it'll be embarrassing for them to be out followed by a 'declining, barely popular' twice member

It's literally impossible for them to not have any individual popularity and I don't think anyone realistically said that either when they are like a 6 year old group who has sold millions of albums.
Unless by "individual popularity" they meant like brand power or public influence? Because if that's the case then I kind of get what they mean. There are boy groups out there that probably have a shit ton of followers too, but outside of idol fans, no one probably cares all that much about them. We'd have to see how well they do with picking up individual cfs or if their solos actually chart high, or if they have any hit dramas.

It would be very difficult for Twice not to have enough individual popularity to surpass 3M followers on Instagram considering they have been active for 7 years and are the third biggest group internationally lol
I disagree with people here saying they are only behind BP members (and there is a massive gap) in individual popularity though. Maybe they will end up with more Instagram followers than other female idols, but Instagram is a pretty stupid metric to rely on. Realistically, could any Twice members chart as well with a solo as Joy or Hwasa (until recently) in Korea)? Could they even chart as well as Yena, considering she's charting better than The Scientist and The Feels combined?

Due to JYP's denial of individual careers for TWICE members, in brand and popularity rankings the TWICE members consistently and structurally rank lower than their position of TWICE the group would make you expect, with the individual TWICE members often coming up lower in those brand/popularity rankings than a lot of other idols of other groups.
TWICE members might have individual popularity, but is it comparable with the popularity they have as TWICE the group, or is the gap with other idols like BP far, far larger than the popularity gap between BP and TWICE as groups, in South Korea and internationally?

I followed Sana, because of course. It's about time she officially claimed her throne as most popular member. JYP of old would not have allowed this. I think NMixx were supposed to be toe to toe with Aespa. That experiment failed, and they badly need Twice to renew their contracts. Clearly Twice know that too!
