Seoul that they won't show you in tv...

  • I get that less developed places are mostly everywhere but I didn't expect to see that in Seoul

  • i think they tend to show the city more in general. maybe thats why it looks better? i mean my native country is pretty much the same.

  • The image of Seoul is really missleading. You only have to step off from flashy street and you fknd yourself in trashy not so flashy alleys. Sometimes it felt like the buildimgs around the main streets were just sets to cover what is behind

  • People usually don't realize South Korea was still a "poor" country a few decades ago only. I've also seen footage of the Korean countryside and villages in many animal rescue videos, and it looks very shabby.

yeah but like u said I would expect something like these to be moved asap to the countryside or some small city because Korea is a rich country so they could do it, especially when the number of people living there is only between 2 to 4k.

plus another thing is that later city/country can sell this land to private investors so money will come back to them.

  • I used to live in a remote village near Daegu which was under developed at the time and it was shabby (although clean as we cleaning the place as a community). It got better over the years thou. Today I actually impressed by the local amenities.

Still surprising they didn't address it as lot of it was caused by Olympic Games evictions. So basically not addressing it for more than 30 years.
