I. Introduction
NCT Life is an ongoing Korean reality/variety series that follows the members of the boy group, NCT, as they travel, play and perform. The group structure of NCT ws unique among K-Pop groups due to the fact that the original concept of NCT was an ever expanding group with "unlimited" members and it is comprised of several individual subunits. Currently there are 20 members in NCT, making up five individual subunits, but have had as many as 23.
Members of all of the sub-units have featured in seasons, although not every member has been featured. Shotaro, Sungchan and WayV's Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang have never appeared on NCT Life. Shotaro and Sungchan are no longer in the group.
Each season follows a specific theme with recurring or new members, dependent on the theme, such as travel, behind-the-scenes preparations for performances, competitions and games. Some seasons are produced in conjunction with national or local tourism boards and have aired on both conventional and streaming platforms. In early seasons of the show, some featured members may not have yet debuted with NCT or in a permanent sub-unit.
The series currently has 11 seasons.
II. Overview
NCT Life: Korean Food King Challenge is the fourth season of NCT Life, featuring members of NCT competing in a cooking challenge. Members learn traditional Korean cooking fundamentals from acclaimed Chef Kwon Yoo Jung and battle to create Korean dishes. Members compete and are judged and eliminated, like a regular cooking show. Eliminated members serve as assistants. The final two members will be judged by a panel of acclaimed chefs and the winning member will have their dish featured on a menu in a SM restaurant.
The members include 127's Taeil, Yuta, Jaehyun and Winwin, as well as NCT U's Ten and Doyoung, with varying skill levels of cooking. This season was produced with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Vlive English subtitles also call this season: NCT Life: K-Food Challenge, NCT Life: Korean Dish Challenge.
NCT Life: Korean Food King Challenge aired on Naver TV Cast, VLive and Youku and Tudou in China, as well as YouTube and the Korean Cultural Center website. It aired between October 22-November 26, 2016.

IV. NCT Trivia
Many familiar and popular memes or references within the fandom appear in the NCT Life series.
- Many of the members' cooking abilities are referenced across NCT and WayV content over the years: Ten and Winwin's lack of ability; Taeil and Taeyong being great cooks; Jaehyun being a very good cook.
- Ten's dishes never use beef.
Episode 1:
- Winwin's Korean is still limited here.
- Taeyong was presented as the "tough guy" in the first two seasons. By the third season, this persona was fading to be the kind-hearted, goofy leader seen now. By this season, he is presented in a more familiar way to NCTzens.
Episode 2:
- Jaehyun and Winwin's "Orange Lemon Cross" will be referenced across NCT content continually through the years.
Episode 5:
- Jaehyun and Winwin are dancing to Red Velvet's "Russian Roulette" in Episode 5, which is popular in compilations. Jaehyun is often dancing to RV in NCT content.
- Doyoung's Vroom Vroom Talk Show makes a brief appearance here again when Doyoung is walking with the microphone at the end of the episode. It was also in the previous three seasons. This is a long-running joke in NCT Life.
