SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. (Korean: SM) is a multinational entertainment company based in South Korea. It is one of South Korea's largest entertainment companies, founded in 1995 by record executive and producer Lee Soo-man. The company has been responsible for fostering and popularizing the careers of a plethora of K-pop stars, many of whom have large global fan bases. The company is a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publishing house all rolled into one.
