To give this some more context here is little explanation about this survey.

It is form years back when SNSD and Kara used to rank on this thing but I think the survey method is still the same.

It's a big annual survey about celebrities.

The survey is done in Tokyo metro area, with stratified sampling. Total of 4400 people.

1100 people each from Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama and Kanagawa.

Each 1100 group is made up from subgroups depending on ag: the youngest subgroup being 100 people 10-14 years old and the oldest subgroup being 100 people 60-69 years old.

Each subgroup is 50% men and 50% women.

The survey includes 1250 celebrities, and the person taking the survey is answering the same questions on all of these.

The question on awareness has 3 options for answer:

#1 I know and recognize this celebrity

#2 I have heard the name but don't recognize the celebrity

#3 I don't know this celebrity at all

IF you answer with #1 on the awareness question saying that you recognize the celebrity, then you answer the followup question about if you ere interested in new work by that celebrity:

I'm very interested

I'm interested

I'm not really interested

I'm not interested at all.

The people who answered I'm very interested or I'm interested are counted as interested people.

So in Twice case out all people surveyed 38% answered "I know and recognize this celebrity" and out of those people 68.5% of them answered:

I'm very interested

I'm interested

to the follow up question about interest.

Meaning the overall interest for Twice out of all people surveyed was that 26%.

You can see from here that his song Antidote only had 22,292 unique listeners on melon on its first day and charted 312th place. It also dropped out of top 1000 after 5 days.

So yeah I have no idea how he managed to get that high digital points number on Gaon for his 1st week.

OP you can't just look at album sales. Back in the day during 1st gen era only way to listen your favorite artist was to buy their album that is why album sales where so high in the late 90s.

Nowadays nobody really buys albums to listen to the music they are just collectibles.

I mean just look at the US going from over 900 million albums shipments to just 30 million.

There is McDonald's in my city but last time I went was like 6 months ago.

If we are talking about fast food in general I think I eat it once a week to once every 2 weeks so 2 - 4 times a month is normal for me.

Actually none of the Mamamoo girls sold 100k, Solar album sold 84k, Moonbyul 77k, Hwasa 66k and Wheein 23k

I&S's album sold 232k copies but they had 1 version more compared to Wendy. They 1st released 2 version and then like 1 week later the 3rd version so in that sense Wendy is at disadvantage compared to I&S

but like you said Revelus are starving so I think 100k is definitely possible.

Nobody really seem to know exactly why. People were kinda confused about it back when it happened as you can from these comments

Yeah but Kara was also really active in Japan that year + they had Korean comeback so their Japan + Korean total sales were little bit higher than SNSD in 2012.

If SNSD just had 1 Korean comeback or if the sub unit SNSD-TTS sales were counted as SNSD sales they would have been number 1 in 2012 as well.

I first thought wasn't SNSD number 1 from 2009 - 2015 so 7 years straight but then I remembered they didn't have Korean comeback at all in 2012 and that year they dropped 2nd place.
