I was not here for their debut as I was not into kpop yet but I can't believe it's been this long.
They came so far! People constantly claiming their next comeback is their last, look at them! Talent always wins!!!!!
Who is saying?
I never felt like they are going to disband!
Look at 2nd gen SM groups, they all are extremely active, so no need to worry about Red Velvet
But I hope SM treats them better

Love You Red Velvet!
Keep releasing music forever

Congrats
But it will take a long time to surpass Cheer Up!

Can they achieve PAK again? Or only RAK?

I won’t call it a music! Boring and flat repetitive chorus, cringe verses and 200% autotune!
The only good part of the song is pre chorus that’s it. Debut was a better song than this!
They deserve better! So far so no musical identity and direction!

They will, only because of the return. But I predict the market share/fandoms won't expand.
Not fading <> Growing, I am betting it won't grow any further in the Western market and slowly decline, but expansions in other markets will keep revenues high.
Just that "fever pitch" phase is over.. but momentum will last for some more years, maybe a decade.
Why people talk about US only when they speak about West!
In Europe K-pop is very much rising!
Even if in US kpop will stagnate it will be fine

Going by historical precedents - NO.
Kpop has peaked in the West, BTS caught the prime window and to lesser extent BP.
Twice too, but different dynamics.
I don't think any other Kpop act is going to have that degree of impact in foreseeable future.
The precedent I use is ABBA and Swedish music, ABBA was the last non-English/non-Latin act to attain major success in the West (though they switched to English too). There were some follow up Swedish/Euro acts to them. But not to that extent.
Kpop has been trying to break into the West for decades, that succeeded with BTS/BP, there were some unusual things offered by Kpop in the visual/choreo based group of singer-dancers (not band), part of Hallyu wave of K-drama, cosmetics etc., But that "unusualness" factor won't sell for long and Western acts will incorporate some of the features.
For example, Taylor Swift in recent years has taken fan-service to Kpop level.
So that will be it. It won't vanish overnight, but progressively decreasing returns. But success in West, means better access into other markets, already happening with Latin America, so the money will continue to flow in.
However the days of "mania" are over. It is a pity the pandemic intruded, else BTS/BP would have had 2-3 more crucial years.
Well BTS and Blackpink are returning next year, so they can make a noise in the west
K-pop also isn’t fading away anytime soon! It’s just market saturation!

In a single tour.
Yeah I’m talking about it too! I just said they can reach 1.5m attendance in a single tour by their 9th year, like twice did!

Well Let’s compare the Japan shows with Japan shows in their 2nd world tour!
Twice -3 Tokyo domes 150k attendance
Aespa- 2 Tokyo sold out domes 100k, 3 shows in Fukuoka, 2 shows in Nagoya, 2 shows in Saitama, 2 shows in Osaka!
Aespa - 2 Jamsil Indoor stadium dates 12 k attendees
Twice - 2 kspo dome attendees 20k attendees
So Twice wins in SK and Aespa clearly wins in Japan
We will compare US when Aespa will announce US dates
Other country shows - we cannot compare!
If we compare, it will be obvious that Aespa is performing better than twice!
-
We cannot be "lying" based on your PREDICTION of what will happen in the future, Miss Cleo. If it hasn't happened, it hasn't happened.
About what future you are talking lol
Almost half of 27 shows of parallel line already happened
And Aespa isn’t flopping btw, they are on an upward trajectory! We will speak after when they will announce 2nd part of their world tour!
-
-
Well they should announce their Europe, NA and LatAm dates, so yes they are performing better
-
-
-
Well looks like Aespa is performing much better than twice if we compare their 2nd world tour
-
And aespa is also nearing their 4th year
Hyperline: ~250k
Twicelights: 242k
The difference is negligible bffr. Twice would have done 300k+ for Twicelights if the encores weren't canceled due to Covid.
Idle is nearing contract renewals and still can't do 200k. LSF are 2 years old but their last tour pulled less than 100k attendees. Only Ive and aespa rn are doing proper world tours but idk if they can do 400k+ total attendees like Twice did back in 2019
Once again you made zero points.
By 2019 Twice had the third most attended tour by a GG ever and in 2020 they became the first GG to pull 100k viewers for an online concert. Simply put Twice were outdoing 2nd gen acts with ease. 4th gen GGs aren't. So no we aren't acting like 2nd gen stans. It's a fact GGs rn can't tour like Twice.
You are not considering 1 fact! Aespa became muuuch more popular after their 1st world tour since drama era!
Hyper Line had 17 shows in Asia
While Parallel line has 27 shows in Asia
And their attendance for some places is getting bigger, and they are touring again after 9month!!!
How much time passed after their 1 st world tour, when Twice started touring again?
