And till this day " My world" is still the album with the biggest 1st day sales for any gg album
Spicy almost had RAK and was just blocked on 1 chart by IVE "I AM"
The song was still this week charting in melon daily chart top 100 1 year and 6 months after release outcharting in term of longevity songs like Queencard which were consider bigger than spicy when it was released
Having 4 songs of the album enter melon daily chart " welcome to my world" , " spicy", "thirsty" , and " salty & sweet"
#2 most awarded artist at Melon music award 2023
And Drama is still charting in the top 30 of Youtube Music korea 1 year after release and still charting in melon top 100
Drama had a good longevity internationally and in korea even before the whole hybe mess even happened
Aespa have been on a upward trajectory in korea since Spicy and have been gaining a big amount of supporter in korea since they tone down it down the kwangya concept
Their current success isn't thanks to mhj or hybe mess but only thanks to their good team being able to understand what work with them and giving them concept that fit the members
And stop trying to mold the girls in a way to fit the concept like they used to do during the kwangya era.
And the girls effort for all these years at improving on stage and skills wise.
2023 is actually the 2nd best years of aespa career after 2024 so people really need to stop being delusional
2021 was good but only thanks to NL, savage had a PAK but it had a poor longevity in the chart and none of the songs had the longevity of drama internationally
2023 was the first year where aespa have been really at the top from start to finish

Aespa would never release spicy or welcome to my world (which was very NJ coded) if it wasn’t for NJ bringing back the soft concept that TWICE failed to continue.
Then MJH single handily revived their career by exposing HYBE. And Aespa made a comeback right in the middle of it, gaining them the hit supernova.
Now we can see SM is using all their strength in recent promotions.
Say thanks to NJ and MJH.
Now we will see if NJ can save themselves

BTS was always an exception, the Western industry is so hermetic that only the most IMPACTFUL artist in the kpop industry could make them bend around.
Still, it is obvious how desperate they were to shut the door closed ASAP.
I guess other kpop acts will have to keep trying. Maybe riding the coat tails of relevant Western acts will finally do the trick...
