Money was given to Starcrew for their current groups (mainly one dude who is former wannaone). This was before FF was even named. They knew some of that money ended up going to FF but didn't care, they expect their payback from the company not the group.

They even dropped statements explicitly saying this. Doesn't mean Attrakt didn't use/intend to use FF profits to pay it back, its just clear the investors only wanted Attrakt and Starcrew on the hook for it. This invvestment model is used alot in the west, just mostly used by artists with agencies not investor to agency like this situ.

Yes, Interpark advanced 8B to Starcrew and they don't care as long as money's coming in and they don't get dragged into the FF-Attrakt lawsuit. I made a long post about that yesterday (post 13, RE: FIFTY FIFTY might lose against their ex Ceo)

However, out of the 8B, 6B was included in the settlement details of Fifty Fifty belonging to Attract. So the girls are directly on the hook for the 6B. This 6B is much of what the lawsuit is about - Attrakt isn't disputing this; their lawyer argued that the members agreed to the debt repayment structure. Fifty Fifty is arguing they never agreed to it.

Seems like she uses the same reporter for mediaplay as the Attrakt CEO. What is he, the go to reporter for music execs?

I mean.....yes? It is his company and he can do whatever he wants with it?

Warner deal made more business sense if he was in it for the long run. Better for the girls too. Even if he could pull of a public listing without a financial track record, I think he'll just be moving on to his next thing after pulling a cash grab at the expense of the girls.

Another thing that is really stupid and is actually part of FF's lawsuit is that 8 billion won and how it was spend.

Like this is an like a Tesla employee suing Elon for using Tesla's money to but Twitter. This is how crazy it sounds. It is none of anyone's business how company spends its money.

Well, the Tesla employee isn't personally on the hook for what Tesla spent for Twitter, FF has to repay at least 6B of that 8B. Even worse, the girls never agreed to the it. How could they if they weren't even allowed to know the number - it took a lawsuit for it to be revealed.

But yeah, companies are in Kpop for the money, many Kpop fans tend to suspend that part of reality.

    He actually refuted that

"According to Star News on the 11th, 'Atract' CEO Jeon Hong-joon said, ... The settlement of domestic music revenue for 'Cupid' came in a little around June. In the case of music revenue generated from overseas charts, it takes about 4 to 9 months. It will probably settle around August or September. Even if the settlement amount is 3 billion won, it is negative from the company’s point of view. The settlement for each member is set separately.”

So he crawled back from the cave just to say this? Nothing on Cupid's credits? Nothing about them refusing deals on behalf of Attrakt? Cone on John Wick, this just proves that the rest is all true.

Well, he did address the cupid rights, but the media didn't push it that hard. He said he legitimately acquired the rights as producer and the 9K that came later from Attrakt was applied to get them their "neighboring rights" to get the agency their cut. The way he went about it could be seen as slippery though. It's not true that Attrakt isn't gonna see any money from cupid. In fact, JHJ himself changed his tune recently when he said he now expected the money from cupid streams would come in a few months and from that the girls would be paid - if they drop the suit and came back...

My guess as to why he's only coming out with this now is that he was saving it for his lawsuit with Attrakt. If so, looks like there may be movement on that front.

Google translation of The Giver's full statement in the bottom half of the article (screenshots in the link):

"Attract CEO Jeon Hong-joon approved the label deal that Dugiverse was offered by Warner Music Korea in advance and was frequently briefed on the progress.

Looking at the previous situation of the transcript released by CEO Jeon Hong-joon, CEO Jeon Hong-joon inquired about Dougibus CEO Ahn Seong-il about attracting investment from overseas, and while CEO Ahn Seong-il was looking for a way, he was offered a label deal with Warner Music Korea. was delivered to CEO Jeon Hong-joon, followed by a conversation between Warner Music Korea and CEO Jeon Hong-joon.

This is the KakaoTalk content of the actual conversation.

On December 19, 2022, CEO Jeon Hong-joon inquired about attracting investments such as advance payments from the United States to solve the insufficient funding problem, and Dugiverse proposed a plan from February 22, 2023 to March 2023 as a way to solve attract's financial problem. Until April 10, 2023, we discussed the label system with Warner Music Global and Warner Music Korea. However, on April 22, 2023, CEO Jeon Hong-joon hoped for an advance distribution investment and direct listing method rather than a label deal, so Dugiverse said that it was the CEO's choice in the end and did not discuss it any further.

CEO Jeon Hong-joon received a 'label deal through a direct distribution company' from Dugiverse's CEO Ahn Seong-il. The label deal is a structure in which an artist belongs to a label of a global direct distribution company and uses the direct distribution company's financial power and infrastructure to achieve coexistence. Global direct distributors include Warner Music Korea, Universal Music Korea, and Sony Music Korea.

On the other hand, there is 'advance distribution investment' as a way for the artist's agency to utilize the distribution company's funds. The agency can use this fund relatively freely, but it has a clear obligation to repay.

CEO Ahn Seong-il suffered from extreme stress and pain during the production of the Fifty Fifty album. This is because CEO Jeon Hong-joon did not put the advance payment received from the distributor Interpark into the production cost on time, and the funds were not executed at the promised time, so the production cost payment to the partner company was overdue/in arrears, and eventually the debut was delayed. In light of the girl group's album production reality, where numerous partners (broadcasting, marketing team, overseas PR, platform company, stylist, hair makeup, choreography team, etc.) must collaborate organically, the uncertainty of the production cost is inevitably a big risk. In addition, in a situation where it is not easy to secure excellent personnel due to the attract structure, collaboration with direct distribution labels was thought to be a way to facilitate overseas work.

For efficient album production, artist activities, and stable growth of Attract, Dugiverse proposed to CEO Jeon Hong-joon and delivered the approved label deal to Warner Music Korea (the expression 'buyout' in CEO Jeon Hong-joon's transcript is a share). It refers to acquisition investment, and it is a kind of label deal. CEO Ahn Seong-il used the expression label deal, but he never used the word buyout). The deal with the label was not sudden as CEO Jeon Hong-joon had continuously asked CEO Seong-il Ahn to mediate the investment attraction.

Dugibus was faithful to the role of a bridge that connects and helps in the middle. Unlike the early days when we discussed overseas investment or label deals for stable operation, after the success of the Fifty Fifty Cupid album in April 2023, CEO Jeon Hong-joon changed his stance and refused label deals, sticking to the advanced distribution investment method. . After that, Warner Music Korea also turned to investment in prepaid distribution and discussed with CEO Jeon Hong-joon.

On July 3, when the recording was released with Warner Music Korea, the statement that he had not heard anything about the label deal is false, and the claim that CEO Ahn Seong-il proceeded alone without the approval of CEO Jeon Hong-joon is also false.

Advance distribution investment or label deal is not something CEO Ahn Seong-il can decide, but only his agency Aftract, which is the party to the contract, can decide.

It is incomprehensible that CEO Ahn Seong-il and Duggy Bus, who proposed a good environment for CEO Jeon Hong-joon, his agency, and artists, are accused of being behind the impure forces."

Don't know if it helps, but some dates for context:

    May 2 - Date of Aran's surgery

May 9 - Date of Warner Music Director's call to JHJ that he eventually leaked to media

May 19 - Eyewear booking agent call; JHJ in US; Aran in hospital

May 31 - End of The Giver's outsourcing contract

The eyewear company reached out at a crazy time.

Same Employee "B" in the old Dispatch article?

On May 2, Aran underwent a surgery. On that day, Employee “B” sent a message to Jeon Hong Joon.

B: CEO, they said Aran’s surgery will go well and she will be moved to a hospital room to recover. The surgery is currently going well, but I will continue to monitor as they said we have to watch her condition.

B: I’m going to give the other members a break while Aran recovers, is that okay? May 10 to May 28. The other members would need to return to the dorms by May 28.

Initially, Jeon Hong Joon countered by only giving them a week off, and employee “B” responded.

Jeon Hong Joon: That’s too long. What will you do if there’s an accident? Give them a week off and then have them come back to the dorms. I’m concerned about an accident regarding their safety. Give them a week. After they go back to the dorms, give them more personal improvement time.

B: Ok. I was worried about the same thing, but there were requests from both the members and their parents. Also, Aran needs to rest for at least two weeks she complained to Ahn Sung Il that she was worried she would only get one week of rest.

Jeon Hong Joon told employee “B” to have them rest until May 25, giving them just over two weeks instead of one week.

Reading between the lines, Interpark's threading the needle here trying to remain on the side of JHJ since they're on the same boat in terms of interest, distancing themselves from any potential shortcuts JHJ might be taking with the members payment contract structure, and avoiding implicating themselves in any potential wrongdoing. They wanted to make it clear that their 9B advanced payment agreement (loan) was with Star Crew and not Attrakt and that they are not involved in the mess going on between Attract and Fifty Fifty members. Reminds me of China's dynamic with Russia when Ukraine was no longer a sure thing.

To quickly recap part of the lawsuit, the members were surprised to find out that they had a 6B settlement structure at Attract that they hadn't been informed of (and had no idea what the money was spent on, and if it was even all spent rather than tucked away somewhere) while any income they generated was going to Star Crew to fulfill obligations there that they also never agreed to (we'll leave for a later date the real problem which is that JHJ has to come up with new money if he wants to pay down the members' 6B structure at Attrakt since income is going to Star Crew). Their lawyer pointed out that were a proper structure to be agreed to and set up, it would be between Interpark and Attrakt instead.

This could possibly bring Interpark into question. Interpark responded with their first point they wanted to make - their agreement was with Star Crew and was never with Fifty Fifty (Attrakt). What's unsaid is that they want to be able to claim that they deal at arms length with JHJ's Star Crew, and any shenanigans at Star Crew or Attrakt is none of their business.

The second point they wanted to make clear was that Fifty Fifty doesn't have an obligation to repay the advanced payment debt. Well, technically this might be true, but who's generating the income to repay? Saying this protects themselves and shades the members - killing two birds with one stone. Brilliant, really.

As for JHJ, he had been clouding up the issue by saying that the members were still at Star Crew when the agreement was signed and that when they left Star Crew and signed on to Attrakt, somehow the payment structure also got transferred with the members' agreement. Again, this brings into question the legitimacy of Interpark's agreement. This is probably the reason why Interpark is even speaking to the media - because both the members' and JHJ's arguments in court implicated Interpark. Kinda begs the question why Interpark didn't sign the agreement with Attrakt in the first place.

Which brings us to the third thing Interpark wanted to do. They wanted to give a justification (really just for the public) for why they didn't sign the agreement with Attract. So this is what they came up with.

"At the time, we made the investment due to Star Crew Ent’s artist Ha Sung Woon’s (Sungwoon) success as well as Jeon Hong Joon’s abilities. Interpark was aware that Star Crew Ent was planning on producing a girl group. At the time, FIFTY FIFTY’s team name hadn’t been established, and The Givers’ Ahn Sung Il had not joined the production.

We understand that some of the money we invested into Star Crew Ent was used for FIFTY FIFTY. As the group’s debut date came closer, Jeon Hong Joon made launched a new entity called ATTRAKT. We were considering transferring the investment to ATTRAKT, but we didn’t since the money wasn’t exclusively for FIFTY FIFTY. It was also for other artists, including Sungwoon."

But Ha Sung Woon left Star Crew and signed with Big Planet Made (BPM) late 2021.

Ex-Wanna One member Ha Sung-woon signs with Big Planet Made
Former Wanna One member Ha Sung-woon has signed a record deal with new entertainment agency Big Planet Made (BPM).
    www.nme.com

So if Ha Sung Woon is gone and Fifty Fifty, effectively JHJ's only remaining artist, moved to Attrakt, why didn't they redo/transfer the agreement to Attrakt then? I have my theories, but it's speculative and ppl rooting for JHJ might pop a blood vessel so I'll end it here for now.

Bop for me. Sometimes you just want a simple and upbeat song. And it's always a good time when you find someone you can face unlock.

But what was it about the Antifragile era that allowed Chaewon to be "fully in character"?

To me the purpose of Fearless was to introduce us to LE SSERAFIM as a whole and their highly synchronized style. There was a simplicity and uniformity to what they wore - chic dresses, black suits etc... Chaewon had jet black hair and a chic fashionable vibe like the others. Not much differentiation.

For Antifragile, Chaewon bleached sections of her hair for a two tone look that was more rebellious. She also wore boots in the MV and her outfit looked fierce. So now she looks the part of a badass. Hitman Bang personally suggested working in the akanbe expression into the routine. This is genius as it balances out the fierceness with a playful mischievousness.

Check out Jossi's animation for AF. She's great at boiling artists down to essential key features and you can see how Chaewon made the job easy for her:

On the other hand, what was it about the Unforgiven era that allowed Yunjin to be in "top form"?

To me, I think they picked or created parts for her that allowed her energy and personality to come through more in Unforgiven. The parts were also more memorable because they fit her.

In the MV, she's assigned the first verse to kick things off strong and set the tone coming out of a helicopter. She got the part to shoot the arrow and a long break in the music focused attention on it.

She was hamming it up in the Hummer like only she could. Part of her dress is stepped on and rips off - and like a carefree (or clumsy) American, she kept stepping forward and is ultimately unbothered.

In the choreo, she did a 90 degree back-bend that was pretty powerful (and painful to watch for some). And like she started it off strong coming out the helicopter in the MV, towards the end when the energy needed to be brought to a peak, they pick her to take center position doing a dance sequence involving a 360 turn to "jumping jacks".

If you were able to follow along and picture/recall most of what I described in words, she was in top form in Unforgiven. Generic parts/moves are less memorable and wouldn't show her being in top form.

Edit: I saw that Jossi also did one on Eve Psych. Check it out and compare it to AF, who in particular staod out for her this time?
