    Not on my list, but when I first heard STAYC's Teddy Bear, it felt so nostalgic I swore I must've heard it before. It bugged me for the longest, until I remembered the song it reminded me of - Starships by Nicki Minaj. Now I can't hear one without associating it with the other. The clip below plays the two songs one per ear. Crazy right?

  • XG "Grl Gvng" : BOP vs FLOP

    If Mascara is more "K-pop" and is one for the ladies, guys will like this more IMO. Those into 90's-00's Japanimation (Akira, Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell) will eat this up, the video is seriously nuts! You can find another girl crush group do something similar to Mascara, but their subsequent stuff has been getting more unique and playing more to their strengths. This one just shows you another side of their versatility. LR is still my favorite though and fingers crossed that the title track goes back to old school hip-hop/R&B, which a lot of their non-Kpop fans I'm sure are looking forward to as well.


    Edit: Bop, if I wasn't clear. Can't say they've missed yet.

  • Yena's Hate Rodrigo MV taken down? Set to private?

    Nah, too early to say if this is actually a bad thing. Here's how Yena should handle it:

    1) Cancel all scheduled appearances to poeticize absence

    2) Wait for web articles, video channels, social media to cover this and create free buzz

    3) Remain silent and have agency reply "no comment" to media inquiries to build tension

    4) Monitor the metrics and when buzz shows signs of having peaked, go Japanese Youtuber style. Film an apology video in a black suit showing emotional vulnerability (tears optional but recommended). End it with a proper 90 degree bow.

    5) Title it "I was forced to take down my comeback MV forever" and upload the video

    6) Go back to step 2 and run it thru to completion. (the title for Step 5 this time: "You've asked, and I've listened")

    7) Re-upload the fixed MV and watch it hit trending.

    Optional last step: give the person who suggested the original title/concept a raise
