It was inevitable a gg would sell 1 million and BP were in the perfect position to do so. Ggs have never and will never exist as a counterpart for bgs. so you agree with me. things only changed with bts's hustle in the west. because before that there wasnt any indication of this growth.

women in the industry do have more limitations but ggs are generally much more appealing than boy bands. unfortunately that doesn't translate in women having more power/respect in their careers, unlike men.

this gg label is just a way to go around bts's impact in the industry. bp did 1 million in 2020, all bands have been increasing their sales since then and bp just followed the trend as the 2nd most popular band ww, on a smaller scale seeing as ggs do not inspire the same passionate massbuying.

that would be a major societal shift that would impact a looot more than kpop gg's longevity. the government would have to finally establish a system where idols can postpone without having to sign up for those university degrees.

paving the way in the west is making the industry open up for korean acts. US labels signing kpop acts, distribution deals, getting promo more easily, concert venues being easier to negotiate. once you have an act making a lot of noise others will want a piece of the pie. everyone wants to make money.

I don't think they can do a lot of stadium dates in Europe. But France is a good choice for them. Their Hyde Park sales are not looking good right now (65k attendance). But it's still January. Wonder if they'll go to the BRITs for promo (and also get the award).

I'm just not seeing the numbers for a BTS LY-era type tour. Banc in LA was 22k attendance, Coachella is a guaranteed crowd. Exciting to see if they prove me wrong.

also spent the last month talking about bp paving the way in the fashion world while continuing to deny how bts paved the way for kpop visibility in the west.

I have to give it to YG hustle. Because BP's Hyde Park sales are not looking good right now. Especially if you compare with other days. They were announced months ago and some categories are still in the Launch tier. BTS sold out Wembley with more or less the same attendance in one day so I suspect BP still has to make an extra jump to get BTS LY era-level. Coachella will help (and an English cb). But it's pretty risky for UK promoters for them to headline one London festival and have a stadium concert weeks later. Their crowd in France seems pretty intense and with accessible prices I see them selling out a fully seated stadium concert.

Coachella sales are anaemic with no official announcement of W1 selling out (just unavailable) and I suspect resale prices in April will be very accessible. What locals were saying about kpop/bb fans driving up resale prices will be proven wrong. Not their fault though as prices are very high, BB's tour has just ended and curiously most of the hype I see is for Frank Ocean of all people, probably due to how little he tours.

Did they sell out Banc pretty quickly? A NA tour seems very ambitious seeing Born Pink's poor performance in the charts, their Coachella headlining spot and the fact that they toured there less than a year ago.

we'll see. granted there'll be armys going for repeated viewings but there's a reason those records are from films from the 2000s

every group started to sell like crazy, from 2020 onwards it's been crazy. it's not specific to GGs.

bts opened the market in the west for "kpop" as a whole. there's a reason this has been increasing steadily since 2017, moreso since 2020. everyone's sales are increasing, more stores are selling them and mots:7 record will probably be surpassed in the coming years by some bg with a dedicated fb in china. i got into bts and then into bp. bts's hustle in the west did a lot for kpop, bp included (yg lazy ass has been very lucky). no way these companies arent using bts numbers to convince venues and festival execs to choose kpop acts.

the maknae line can definitely pull 100k plus in BB 200, namjoon did 80k plus when physicals were shipped.imagine if one of the members has more than one physical version
