Their Japan numbers might be the most impressive thing to me. Charting at #28 there and also getting close to top 20 on Apple Music which is why it's also charting on the Apple Music global chart. What also seems to help their charting in Japan is that they have a Japanese member whose mnet videos are attracting quite a lot of views.

They have 2 Japanese members. The one getting a lot of traffic now is Moka. She was actually the least popular out of the Illit girls pre-debut but now has become the most outstanding performer. That may have surprised people, including me

I already said that kpop debuts now (from big companies) will depend mostly on their music and i was right.

The thing about Illit is I think people underestimated them because RUNext was a flop. But the show actually had many talented girls with lot of potentials, Hybe could even debut 2 groups out of that show tbh. Even the girls in Illit now haven't shown their full potentials yet with these debut songs. 4/5 of them fit strong concepts much more and the Minju girl can even do some YG style raps. So people can look forward to their future if they ever switch to different concepts.

More importantly, I think their vocalists sound very good together but also very distinctive, that's a huge plus.

I've always thought his music style is very suitable for girl groups.

Finally he has a viral hit as the main producer for a title track.

Thanks for the thread. Finally I can rant what's been on my mind after watching their stages ytd.

- I dislike the MV, I feel they're trying too hard to match New Jeans's debut vibe but failed. This is about aesthetics, not musically.

- They truly don't look very natural performing especially Minju and Yunah. For some reasons, their RUNext performances were better than their debut, ironically. Their choreography looks so lazy and uninspired (again, RUNext choreography was better).

- Title track is good but this overly girly childish concept isn't really my vibe. This song is getting old fast. Their b-sdes aren't good enough for me.

- I still don't understand why the company suddenly become unhealthily obsessed with Wonhee and chose her to be their center and made the concept circling around her vibe while ignoring other girls' strong points.

- Iroha's bang is a crime. They picked her because of her dance skill but there's no way in hell she could show off her skills with this girly concept and weird choreography.

- Youngseo's leaving before debut becomes more and more clear to me now: She doesn't like the direction of the group and since she's rich, she doesn't want to do what she doesn't like.

- I feel so bad for Yunah and Minju. BGGB showed they had so much more in them than being forced to a concept that doesn't suit them. Because this is their last chance, they have to accept it. I even suspect the company forced them to say that they like girly concept to shut people up.

- I'm starting to think maybe Jeemin dodged a bullet because she would suit TBL's vibe more (iland2)

i came back to say that the mv is probably the worst debut mv from a hybe group post-bts. it feels very lazy, an attempt for new jeans aesthtics but went no where.

song is good but i love the verses more now.

choreography is too weird, esp when the second verse hits

What I love most is everyone has a unique voice but they sound good together

This song reminds me of Red velvet's Russian Roulette more than anything new jeans has released

You know that Japan anime vibe, it's hard to describe but Bang PD loves anime so maybe that was his inspiration

There's an YG's ex-trainee in ILLIT so it would be an interesting fight ngl.

That Belift x Source Music gg sounds fake. why not just make it a Source Music gg? Belift is debuting ILLIT now, i doubt they have much resources to spare.

Whatever gg it is, I hope Jeemin will be able to debut (and the mystery around Youngseo's quitting ILLIT shall see the light as well )

as someone who's been looping her Dangerously cover, I get it. The problem is she did a cover of a good song that shows off many of her strength (stage presence and vocals) while I'm not sure if the music YG give to Baemon will have the same magic. We'll see.

New Jeans had 500k pre-orders for their debut alsum and LSRF 400k.

Illit doesn't have as much hype as them so i say 200-300k at best.

For Hyeri's insta story, i don't think it means that she got cheated (but i understand if people think it that way). I read that for 7 years Hyeri has been wanting to go to Hawaii with him but he didn't take her there. So you can imagine the disappointment she had after finding out they're caught dating in Hawaii. Hyeri even posted the picture of coconut trees (i guess it means Hawaii) with caption of "This is interesting/fun". This is petty but it makes perfect sense to me lol
