I actually went back and rewatched BLACKPINK's Coachella performance after Aespa finished theirs, and while Aespa gave what I think is the best performance of their career to date, BLACKPINK showed the difference that years more experience performing to a live audience, singing live, holding concerts, actually makes.
I also think BP's performance had other factors in it's favor: BP performed 2 weekends, they likely had more practice time, the audience isn't muted like in the official stream for Aespa (very bizarre decision by Coachella this year), their backtrack was lower so it was easier to hear them, Aespa's attendance was revealed after the festival had already started, whereas BP were on the poster ahead of time, so there were more blinks bought tickets, more people in the audience knew the lyrics and were singing along for BP. Overall I think Aespa's Coachella performance feels more rushed and also like a side show to another artist's performance, whereas BP's Coachella felt like they were the main attraction and all eyes were on them, they even got an interview segment in the Coachella stream.
I think comparing the two, the energy is just different
