Okay, so my neighbor is like a middle aged guy who is married and has a daughter who is a teenager and goes to the school next to out neighborhood. Keep in mind, the whole family was known to be super nice, polite and even organized events for our neighborhood like bbqs and so on. The neighbor even bought fireworks for my parents bc he knew that my dad liked them but was too busy to buy them. So basically what happened, this guy cheated on his wife with another married woman that he knows through his daughter and whose daughter goes to the same classes as her. He got to know her at a school event and they literally had an affaire over several years(!). This whole thing ended badly. The neighbors divorced and both moved out. The other mother divorced as well and both the neighbor and her moved in together but moved out of town and the ex-wife moved out as well. They had to sell their house and no one knows what happened with them. I literally gasped for 5 mins when my mom told me this story after I visited home and she spilled the tea. I never thought that this neighbor was such a trash can.

i know its nothing to be ashamed of, i'd feel sorry that said child didnt have the other figure they deserve

so are you 100% you like have a crush on him??
if you do then my best advice is to tell him
and if he doesnt like you back you can cry for a couple days, then get back to life. But before you tell him (if you ever do) make sure you know exactly what you feel, so if he does like you, you dont end up being the heartbreaker 
also i am 13 years old and have only 1 experience of love so do not listen to me
