Next year about to be WIIILLDD. UMG is gonna go all the way out with their promotion and distribution, will be a crazy era, I hope its a full Korean album, their English singles are fine but the charm and appeal of BTS is fully in the Korean music they do. Like its just on a different level to music of other groups I've tried to listen to. .

I have amazing floor tickets for their first concert in LA (only in my first year of being a fan so that was just pure luck lol) and I bought the online one too. Will be fun to just chill out with some wine and watch them. Don't have to plan a million things in advance like I'll have to for LA lol.
Anybody want to split, let me know. It isn't a sound check one though, just for the main concert.

"He spent several days trying to get me to say that I will get an abortion. At the time, I was about 6-7 weeks pregnant, so my belly felt really tense. I told him that I was in pain, but it didn’t matter to him. He said, ‘[Since you’re already pregnant], isn’t it okay to finish inside again?’ and demanded that I have sex with him. He did not use contraception. But he did tell me that I’m ‘his real family now."
He is pure trash

Quickest way to kill off BTS in the west would be a JLO collab. Maybe she's an undercover agent for the western labels lol.

Honestly if it's an absolute banger (like wings or hyyh upgraded for a 2022 sound) and the title tracks are monster hits even more than butter or dyna then I think around 6-700K first week in the US and ultimately around 2-3mill there.
No idea about Korea, I'd say 3 Mill easy but if they fully promote and its a Korean album then 4-5 Mill in Korea.
Japan will be V interesting, I think they could do a milli there.
UK and Europe, 400K, they haven't massively broken out and dominated in those markets just yet.
I really hope it's a fully Korean album, not bogged down with autotune or lots of filler tracks and just pure fire start to end lol. I like mots7 but I would have taken out some of those songs.

Skin whitening is a billion dollar business and absolutely rooted in self-hate, there's a lot of discourse around it and its not something that is favourably looked upon in the west tbf. SK beauty standards are already so whitewashed, that ridiculous filter they put on their idols to lighten their skin is so weird.
It's not a good look to endorse a product that promotes whiter skin (brighter still means whiter, it's just coded language), when your most enthusiastic supporters will be SEA and other Asians who don't fit the pale bright beauty standard. It's not a good look. Especially when you want to break into the US Market that pretends to care about diversity and acceptance of other races and skin colours.

My cousin is 19 and a huuuuge fan (she got us amazing floor tickets to go watch them in LA), she watches all their content. The whole thing passed me by until the beginning of the summer when they randomly popped in my head and I was trying to figure their names and faces LOL. Didn't find them appealing at ALL at first but I've watched the compilations on YouTube and some of the run episodes and they're a huge laugh.
I really like the hyyh trilogy, for me it's kind of like their golden era musically and artistically. The new songs are super fun too. I haven't gotten into the universe thing yet, too complicated for me just yet lol. Fave song has to be Run and Butterfly. Don't think they've reached their peak yet at all.

Casual listener turning into a fan nowadays and finding out more about them.
Jungkook is my fave for sure, he just comes across as having the type of chilled out quiet personality that I like in people. Plus he seems so genuinely big-hearted despite his status and position in one of the biggest musical acts going right now. Could all be a persona but they're filmed too much to keep up the act 24/7, and JK is the most mellow one of all of them that I've seen so far. No outbursts or displays of anger or annoyance, seems like the type to let things go but also very firm in what he wants to do and will do it no matter what.
2nd fave is Jin, he's funny af.

The lipsync was a little shaky in parts and sometimes the faces weren't giving what they should be giving. A bit punchier with the movements next time might be cool.
But I freaking lovee this whole concept that they've got going on. It's so cool and the song is really growing on me, it's exactly what I want from Kpop, something that the western artists don't do.

Love people whining about organic when we know full well that 90% of musicians would sacrifice their first-born to have the fan loyalty bts does. Unless you are Adele, Taylor, Ed etc, you're gonna want fans who are so dedicated to making you successful lol. The GP streamed the heck out of the newer super pushed artists yet they cant even sell out 1000 tickets.

I noticed the reaction with the tattoo girl was very different. Even on this site people were saying vile things about her and looking down on JK because of his "weird taste". I was very disappointed at the comments I was seeing.
I think it mostly has to do with the ideal image of him they have in their heads. They project this image of a cute innocent naive "baby" that would only go for a conventionally attractive good girl or something. Most pictured him with a girl with a clean and innocent image like Tzuyu from Twice for example. So when his taste seemed so different from what they imagined and the girl was so far from their norms, that was the reaction we got. And it doesn't help that a lot of his fans are on the younger side.
Meanwhile the girl in the rumours with Tae seems more "acceptable" because she seems like an ideal woman the delulus can easily self-insert themselves into. She's a rich, successful chaebol who is more deserving of dating a bts member than a random tattooed girl. And she doesn't go against Taehyung's public image.
I feel like it was also that JK being linked to someone so regular sort of shattered the his "unreachable" image and therefore sparked up a TON of comparisons between his fans and her so they were extra nasty. It's so weird though, and is just so reflective of this continuous thing that if a good looking man is around women who don't fit the beauty standard, the woman are the ones who don't belong. Like, he's a celebrity, not an untouchable god lol.
With this Chaebol, his fans can't really impact on her success and life as much as they'd like so they're forced to back down. I do feel as the dust settles, Tae might receive some lowkey backlash for that poison dart clapback post, it felt slightly too much for SK culture who don't like anything to project a bad image even though its fully justified cos these Internet warriors are crazy af.

I think people project their own ideals and envy on JK too much and as the youngest and the face of the band essentially, he isn't able to really fight back as he'd like to? I also think he's genuinely too nice and big hearted sometimes and is more of a letting things go type of person, he needs to get some grit and tell people to fuck off more lol, it wouldn't affect his popularity in the slightest, he's absolutely huge. It was nasty how they thought the tattooist was so beneath him, but that a chaebol is exactly up Tae's Street.

I don't mean any hate in the slightest as I love BTS but has anyone noticed the stark difference in response to both of these rumours? I can't help but think it's probably due to the social statuses of the girls which just feels super wrong to me. Like one was a tattoo artist, a regular job, very free type of image that doesn't go down too well in SK society and the other is a Chaebol heiress from a very wealthy and prominent family. It feels like one got hated and attacked on a lot more than the other due to the class difference. Which doesnt seem fair in the slightest. Especially as international army are being mature about it all, and yet during JK's there were disgusting trends.
It was awesome that Tae spoke out and told everyone to stfu and let him live but I feel like even before that, the response to her was super positive from Knetz, I read comments saying that she was very classy and had a good scandal-free image.
Again, no hate, I'm not a solo either
just new-ish to the BTS army. Don't care if he's dating her or not. Just trying to articulate what I meant to say in the least offensive way and get your opinions.
