Anything BTS releases will be commercially successful, their mixtapes production, lyrics, tracklist, and music videos are already that on the level of an official release.. the only thing that’s missing is an actual promo cycle and physical copies and release on korean streaming platforms.
BTS doesn’t need a plethora of writers and producers when it’s clear they can do that themselves..
They’ll make MILLIONS from album sales ALONE.
And again who cares about being public friendly, BTS releases non “public friendly” or songs against the trends all the time that’s successful all the time.. and they’re successful just based on their popularity alone.. fans will buy and stream whatever they release, and the GP will check it out! I think the word you’re looking for is safe.
The annoyance doesn’t really come from them not actually having albums but the overall way their solo work is regarded by BH in general and how they handle individual features to appearances etc. people are moreso question why in 2021! BH still hasn’t posted about Vs win at the APAN awards! It’s things like this that make people scratch their heads.

yes, any release will enjoy a measure of success because of the sheer size of the fandom behind it. And while BTS has always pushed the envelope with their music, they've also stayed relevant, going for current music trends etc. WE know we'll support most of what BTS puts out, but that still doesn't negate their own feelings about it, and I feel that this kind of thinking focuses too much on our own perspective and not enough on theirs. Joon has said he doesn't check the internet on the day of the release, for fear of seeing bad press and negative/disappointed reactions from fans. Regardless of us knowing we'll stand behind them, they still get anxious and afraid. And if these kind of low-key releases helps ease that stress for them when it comes to their own material, why not?
I think it's also a financial decision - at least for the moment. The time will come when BTS will no longer promote as a group and they'll go their own way, career-wise. And while ARMYs are more willing than other fandoms to part with their money, not even we can, right now, successfully financially support 8 different releases (members + the group) each year. It's obvious the moment official solo releases start being put out, most of us will be forced to choose between buying X-member's album or Y etc. And it's clear they want to keep the focus on BTS for now.
I don't think we should resent them for it. BTS the group has reached heights no one dared to dream for them. And they still have so much potential. the name of BTS still has history to write, and I believe they want to see how far they can take it. The time will come for solo careers in the true sense of the word (maybe sooner than some of us might like , due to enlistments). But for now I believe they want to see how far the name of BTS can make it.
I for one have faith in their choices. Maybe if the re-negotiation of the contracts hadn't happened, i would've been more inclined to blame it all on BigHit. But I do believe this is one aspect where BigHit and BTS seem to be in agreement.
