I agree. I think it's unhealthy to completely devote yourself so much to a group that you sacrifice your personal taste, opinions, and morals for people who don't even know you exist.

I wasn't around during this time so maybe there was backlash and I missed it. But I didn't see anything about the... um...interesting choreo in the comments of this or the mv. Wasn't she like sixteen during this. They should have given her a choreo that was far more appropriate for her age.

I mean you're right to an extent. There are some parts of Gee and TT that are dated. But the reasons you listed don't make sense. DU-DU-DU-DU has a repeating chorus and it isn't dated, Scream has a repeating chorus and it isn't dated. And the cute sound in both those songs doesn't make them dated either.

After School, Tag me (@ Me), and Hello by weeekly, Q&A, Love so Sweet, and Follow Me by Cherry Bullet, V.AV.I Girl, Sunday, and Milkshake by Fanatics. Those are all cute songs that came out recently that don't sound dated because they have the cute sound. Heck, Hello takes inspiration from the second gen yet still sounds modern. Mixing and composition trends of a time make a song sound dated.

Gee and TT sound dated because they came out in 2009 and 2016. If a cute song came out now that had a repeating chorus like Gee and TT but mixed in some modern song-making trends, it wouldn't sound dated.

Then TWICE and Red Velvet became hits with their earlier songs/concepts and it became popular again to do bright concepts once again. Yep! All it will take is a big 4 group to debut with this concept or for STAYC to reach TWICE level for bright and cute to be everywhere again.

I've noticed since IZ*ONE, companies have slowly started to debut groups with brighter concepts. STAYC has some very impressive hype surrounding them, they even managed to out chart a big 4 group which is insane. Weeekly won 2020 rookie of the year and have the highest peak of monthly listeners on Spotify. And LIGHTSUM has quite a bit of hype surrounding their debut. If cute/bright does come back I don't think it'll be the same as in earlier generations; it'll probably be a mix of bright/cute/high teen.

I don't really think that's what the video is about. Plus comparison doesn't take away the hard work or success of groups. If anything it helps them improve. When most people compare it isn't to see which group is better but to share opinions on different aspects of groups that you like or dislike. And people should be able to share those opinions peacefully without immature fans coming in and making it a warzone.

You're acting like weeekly not being insanely popular right away is a bad thing. It took Apink 2yrs to get a hit and 1 more year to become a household name. Just because weeekly aren't as successful as STAYC right now doesn't mean they aren't successful period. They are the best-selling girl group to debut in 2020-2021 as well as the one with the most monthly listeners on Spotify. This is a personal opinion but i's rather watch a group slowly grow to be successful than find popularity right away. And what do you mean by "overused nugu music" their the only group right now doing pure, unfiltered colorpop.
