didn't like the music or group when they started, but then they changed 180...and the music sounded better... but in my experience, when groups change image 180, it's a sign of weakness and desperation by the company...

i dont think this is the case to some extent. the only real change is that the music got more international. the sound lends itself heavily from the songs of the 2nd gen.
but i'd say 1 thing about the current 3-4 generation that can't be said about the golden age...
girl groups like (g)i-dle and weeekly compose their own songs...and that didn't happen very much, if at all for the girl groups in 2nd gen.

it was a period of time when modern girl groups became the girl groups we see today. how they were marketed, how their music was released, their choreography, etc etc. the music was also refreshing compared to the previous generations.
