realistically about 76 million
why not 80 million?

If their next album has no deluxe bullshit and normal price 4 versions! it's been so long since they had a normal release that i have no idea how much we can expect
bts becoming the biggest group
definitely no, probably august
they are so funny omg
idk what happened, but why whenever I see smth from SVT fan from twitter it's always a complain
i swear they complain every two weeks
i saw one going around on twitter?? is it the same?
I'm gonna buy it
JYP's recruitment and strategy of closely watching personality traits, focusing on the integrity of their trainees and trying to shape them as good human beings = a good % of genuine types in their groups
this is marketing bullshit
Ig no one in Japan who doesn't know Arashi, they're already on early 40 but still popular. Last time I watched older group concert, a lot of auntie on their 40's and 50's came with their husband and children So, I guess BTS will always have their loyal fans in Japan if bighit promote them properly.
Maybe that's why groups like AKB 48, nogizaka 46 and older one like morning musume has graduation system. Wota always wants fresh and young female idols
I really hate it when Jnetz call female idols with 劣化する just because they're not young anymore.
graduation system just started to make so much more sense to me rn, they keep the brand and keep popping new faces for wotas keep their fantasy kpop also don't treat well older idols but seems to treat better at least, no wonder sakura got out as soon as she could
Yeah, With charts and sales results, definitely BTS is bigger. However, neither group is that big yet in GP level. Twice was invited to Kohaku twice, but their popularity dropped, they was not invited later. BTS still hasn't received their first invitation. I am looking forward to the first time they will debut on the Kohaku stage.
they sent staff to personally try cast bts in the middle of their world tour in 2018, wherever some things happened that year, i don't think they will ever be on this show
I can't predict the song will explode with GP. But BTS fanbase is really big in Japan, so it doesn't matter tho.
I guess male idols/musicians have more advantage for longevity when it comes to popularity in Japan. People in forums already called female idols above 26 as hag or 'deteriorated'
While my own fave Sixtones debuted on 25 years old
the misogyny, aren't arashi real hags and still super popular? i always heard how japanese fans are super loyal, i guess it's only for men
Display MoreNot really. BTS are doing 2x's more YouTube views weekly and their songs are doing better on LINE Music, Apple Music, RecMusic, and Spotify than TWICE ever since Dynamite was released. For album sales, TWICE is now struggling to surpass 100K sales on Oricon when they were able to do 300K-400K in 2017-2019. BTS, on the other hand, are doing 450k+ with ease with their Korean albums & 700K+ with their recent Japanese full album (first time for a Korean act since SNSD in 2011), their singles could probably do 1M+ now since 'Lights' sold ~800K in 2019 (before Dynamite).
Butter is basically #1 on all streaming and digitals sites in Japan (broke Spotify record of 500K+ while TWICE has yet to do 200K). Based on Soundcharts, TWICE have ~500K Japanese monthly listeners from Spotify and BTS have ~1.1M (will increase after Butter).
Yes. TT can't really compare to be honest.
Weeks in Top 10 on HOT 100:
TT - 13 weeks (only entered top 10 when Japanese version w. physical release was dropped)Dynamite - 40 weeks (still charting)
Oricon/Billboard Streams:
TT - 80M+ in 4 years(Korean + Japanese versions)Dynamite - 350M+ in 9 months
Oricon Downloads:
TT - 100K downloads (JP version surpassed 100K in 9 months but the Korean version was out for ~16 months)
Dynamite - 410K downloads (surpassed 100K in 5 months)
* Dynamite charted in top 10 for Japanese radio for 20+ weeks and has been in top 40 for karaoke for nearly 9 months despite being an English song. English songs rarely enter high on Karaoke charts (dominated by Japanese songs).
* Dynamite has ~1.3M views from the two music videos (bside - 500K & original - 800K) on LINE Music. It is the most watched music video ever there. TWICE's most watched has around ~230K views).
* Dynamite is still in the top 4 most streamed songs weekly on Billboard after 9 months and top 3 on Apple Music, Youtube, and Spotify in Japan.
English songs pretty much never enter the top 20 on Oricon karaoke. They even struggle to enter top 100 on the Billboard karaoke chart.
Basically, BTS is bigger than TWICE right now, both fandom and general public wise. It even seems BTS will have a bigger peak than them in Japan because Butter is looking like a hit by how it is charting.
omg
Dynamite was popular among GP last year for a non-japanese song. So imo, it's BTS now. I guess the news about grammy nominee and their success in the west to the point Arashi mentioned their name, it shows how big is BTS in Japan.
I wasn't kpop fans a few years ago, but even I already saw a lot of threads about Twice in Jnetz-forums like 2ch and Girls Channel. But lately....idk, they need more promo ig? But twice is still quite big.
are you japanese? is butter also going dynamite way you think? they just did 500K on spotify
Currently, BTS is bigger. If you’d asked me two or three years ago who had more public recognition, I probably would say Twice.
Both are extremely successful, although I’d say their success isn’t as widespread across demographics like native Japanese artists.
they more successful among teens?
