It's very common in rural areas like where I live. Sure most people live in cities close to the jobs, but a lot of peopel also live in villages and communites 40km ouside the cities where they have their work place.
In general I think it's too many stupid rules and limitations put on the people that in reality don't help much but just make people pissed off. Like putting extra tax on plastic shopping bags like that is a huge problem. (no it's not).
I also was confused about that in the early days, and it's bit suprising to be that so many use SNSD today instead of Girls' Generation name.
They are legal different entyties and in court that is what matter most. But as a subsidary of Hybe they of cource have the power to indirectly control Ador even if Ador have a separate authority. Ador have it's own board members and CEO, so they have their own authority, that is not a lie. But Hybe have the power to selecet the members of the board and they select the CEO.
And even companies that are not belonging to the same group can sign contract that give the each other power to have a say in different matter. Like the groups from the "Produce" shows with Idols from different companies probably have contrats giving them some influence of the activite of those groups.
They are free in the same way hybe is free from paying mhj stock buy back from claiming she violated their share holder agreement.
Yes it's possible nobody decides to invest in new jeans but that decision is not up to hybe. New jeans is free to do whatever they want as long as they complete whatever activities scheduled before thr deadline. Hybe would need to file a claim and win in court to stop them which they are unlikely to win and will ultimately hurt them when they try to sue for damages.
It allways depened of how you definition of "free" is. I would not call it "free" as long as you by law must follow a contract.
It's not like a NFL playeer or a premier leauge player can say "Hey, I have two years left of my contract, but I will play for an other team now" with getting in to problems. As long as the issue have not been decided on in courct that they are not bound be the contract they are not "free" even if you say so.

I think it sometimes is a missunderstanding. I can in some conflicts, like the HYBE/Ador/NJ conflict, argu that the company have right in an issue just because it's the logical way to see on the problemif. Most people are very biased and always are in support of their Idols and don't have an unbias view of the conflicts. There are lot of fans that never say anything negative about their favorite group. So, just because I can defend a company does not mean I like them, but a lot of people seems to think that means I do.
They are not "free" as long as contract is in place they will very restricted and everything they do will risk it making it worse for them if they later loose in court. Just because NJ claim the contract is "terminated" does not acctually mean it really is. As long the issue is not settle in court or in an angrement with Ador the contract is still there.
And what company would take them in as long as they are under contract with Ador? That company would risk being sued.
Sure they could make their own company with MHJ, but still they can't do everything by they own. And companies and people colobrating with them risk the anger of Hybe.

Yeah, my point also. Would be wild and crazy if they would be able to just run off without any huge penalties coming their ways. I can't see that happen, if not something more crazy comes up. I would say it's not in their benefit they admit they are going to join MHJ, Ador/Hybe can use this to show it was MHJ masterplan from the start, it does not help the girls.

And I my first point is, what did Ador do to the girls? it's very hard to say they harmed them.
You think all this incidents are a big thing, but if you zoom out, it's very minors stuff that maybe have or maybe have not happen. If one employee of an other company in one or two occautions say something bad or does something that hurt any member of the group is not a big deal. If it happen many times over a period of years maybe it's something. It's not like it's Adors fault if Hybe or some subsidery of them have cause a minor problem.
An the funny thing, who was the boss of Ador when all this happen? You know who. It's also mean she was very much responsible to any harm Ador have caused NJ.
