Sadly one of the mature/boring stuff. But the visuals of the girls, 10/10.

I gone be honest, I don't listen much on albums so I'm pretty limited in my knowledge, but if I should pick one nr 1 favorite, T-ara - Breaking Heart.

It's a big difference say some "not so nice" to a person or just express a negative opinion about something. If a think a song is bad, I say it. But I'm also try to balance it a bit, I'm bit harder against popular groups or a song that gets many likes just to put in a different opinion. No point to kick on somebody that already is lying down ... . It's easier to expresse negative opinion on groups like NewJeans, Blackpink or similar groups than some brand new debuting group from a smaller company.

I don't know how true it is, but I would say that is the case in most groups. Group members are never so good friends as some fans or companies are trying to make it. Well, of cource we have some that acctually are good friends and cases they go along good without being super tight. But in group like this there of cource is a lot of tension between members, they are tired of each other, they are jeoulous of each other etc. I would guess Blackpink is a group with a high risk of "tension" when you have members as Lisa and Jennie in the group, as with 2NE1 and CL creating problems.

I kind of like the style of the song, but it miss something to make it good, so a bit average.
-
Don't they only do one MV and the other are just "Dance performace" versions or similar stuff? Those anybody with a cellphone pretty much can do.....
-
I think they will do a song second half 2024 or early 2025 just to remind us that they have not disbanded
-
not good, not bad, sounds very much like some american pop and I did not come to kpop for that....
-
It's pretty easy, they have boring music. But I never blame them for other groups boring music, if that makes you happpy?
-
Well, she is 17, not a big deal. Would say it's more problamatic with groups that have members that are 14-15.
-
It can bi a big different what kind of apples it is.....
I must say I'm a bit suprised that Sweden was so "cheap" and I really thought apples would be cheaper in SK and Japan...

Also, one could argue that BECAUSE it's so easy to go viral and use social media to to spread your content, it is equally easy for your content to get lost in the endless stream of content all your competitors release on the same platforms.
Sure, but it's still better than trying to promote without social media or social media that was much smaller than today. Smaller companies have it easier today to promote new unknowed groups, just go to social media and try to spread the word. Best chance in the "old days" maybe was to a hit and get in on the radio playlist, not an easy thing.

It's big diffrence between "hate" and just don't like it/feel for it.
I mostly only listen the girlgroup, mainly because I just like the music of the girlsgroups better and I have mostly preffered female groups back in the old days (Destinys Child, TLC, All Saints for example). Is also often big difference between BGs music and the GGs in kpop where GG have a bit lighter upbeat and higher tempo kind of music that is more to my liking, compare to the boygroups that have a bit more darker, slower and with a bit more rock/R&B kind of music.
But sure, it's also a bit about looking at boys in makeup moving around a dance floor is not as fun as watching girls do the same thing, at least when you are a hetro man.

In a way it's much easier today becaue of the growth and spread of social media. It's much easier to promote and spread the knowledge about a new group comapared to the the early years of kpop. The market for kpop is also bigger so you can do fine even if you are only the 20th group on the popularity list, but you would be game over if you was the 20th group 2010. But the same way maybe it's harder to get to the top because it's more competion.
-
Yes of cource, I thought most people did. But maybe not ?
Sure also sometimes pick up slices too with the hand, but mostly with knife and fork.

She IS selling something. The ads are to attract investors .
I think her name and status as a member of Blackpink is how she would attract investors, not some billboards.......
-
2NE1 overall I think most of us can agree on, groups like Wonder Girls maybe was bigger in SK, but did not last so many years. T-ara had some great years and hits and could have beat 2NE1 if they could go on without the "problems".
-
I don't vote because it a queastion that can't answered without more information about what we acctually means with "agencies be successful and profitable".
What will the companies/"agencies" be used for? Will in only be for their personal activities and other artisits in music and similar acctivities, like an YGE in mini-format? I doubt they will have any huge success or profits in the long run. Sure, they will probable do well they first years or so when they are still "hot" and well known. But their status will probably cool pretty fast when they are not the hottest thing in kpop anymore.
But, nr 2, if their companies ("labels) are more of a company to manage all their money and investments they probably can do well depening on how your define "successful". They can burn some money on their "labels" acctivity, but earn money on investments in real estates, capital investments an other business.
And it also depeneds a lot of what kind of people the members are surrouned by and who works for them.
-
Well, maybe she understands the competion in SK from other korean Idols is too hard. I mean she need got to go up against her own group members if they do the similar things as her. I can be a good thing the spend her energy somewhere else, but the US thing sounds more like an ego trip. The ads also have an american/western vibe, maybe they are not suited for the SK market.

They are launching a new girlgroup this year, it's more or less confirmed.
SM Entertainment Revenue Falls Despite Album Sales Surge From NCT 127, aespa ReleasesSM Entertainment earnings show revenue was down last quarter — despite aespa, NCT 127 and RIIZE album releases — due to slow business conditions.www.billboard.com"The multi-production system, which is the core part of our SM 3.0 strategy, has been operating successfully since its introduction last year, and active musical activities are underway under the guidance of each production SM director,” CEO Jang Cheol Hyuk said during Wednesday’s earnings call. The system is meant to speed the introduction of new artists and material by providing other leaders with decision-making powers.
Looking ahead to 2024, SM Entertainment will launch four new artists: NCT Wish, virtual artist naevis, an unnamed girl group and a U.K.-based boy band. The company also plans to release global albums for major artists at least once a year and expand the scale of global concerts, Jang said. "
