I don't think Jennie will have much of a future in music without BP.
2NE1, you can like them or not, but on stage they where nr 1.
it's okay, kind of nice sound, but a bit boring.
Feels more like they trying to hide their boring music and average singers with visuals and good looking MVs.
Oh My Girl -> From NonStop/Dolphin to DunDun Dance, Real Love and Summer Comes.
Dun Dun Dance is by far their best song.
Threads like this and some people still think groups from the bigger companies don't get a lot of extra hype and benefits in marketing before and during the debut.
never heard of them in my life and I'm pretty sure most of the forum (and SK lol) would agree with me????
That is because most of the forum was 10 year old kids at the time.
Bar Bar Bar blow up mostly because it was viewed as a funny thing, not because the song was that great, even if the song was good. So sometimes you need to distinguish between a hit because it was good or because it was some other stuf that made it vira if you will judge the follow up. It's next to impossible to do a good follow up on a viral song like Bar Bar Bar, a bit similar how it's hard to make a follow up on Gangnam Style, it only works one time.
Pretty obvious Twice was based on the same concept as Girls' Generation, but with some added non-korean members and maybe a bit more youthful image. I also believe ITZY was a reaction on BP, JYP wanted something different to Twice and more similar to BP, so they created ITZY that it's a bit in the middle beween BP and Twice.
Not sure if they always can decide themself exactly when they should enlist. And it also kind of make sence if the members are doing solos you spread it out so they don't compet against each other. And if two-three members are doing solo one year it make sence some other members do the military service during that time. The queastion is how many fans will be left in 2025.
Still a horrible name.... could the not come up with any better name for the group?
Actually I think So Cool was their first "big hit" and to follow that up with "Alone," popularizing sexy and then inventing summer with "Loving U"
Legendary
Yeah, I would say the "So Cool" was their first big one and my favorite. But Alone was such a boring song if you compare them, don't understand why people like that song, even if today think the song is "okay".
I really liked Second, but Deep and Picture is pretty boring.
To put things in perspective, I have no clue who Jungkook is.....
I'll answer the opposite of this;
Bingle bangle was one of AOA's hit songs and their first cute song 6 years into their career it was extremely impressive. Then for the next comeback....they did a not cute concept? Why would you chance something that just started working for you?`
Q&A (Cherry bullets debut) should have been given to AOA.
Yeah Bingle Bangle was such a nice suprise,
Huh..BP months ago and they made million from Taiwan considering Lisa used to promote in China and they’re huge in China it didn’t even affect their career so what’s the difference between them and twice ? Even Gidle performed in Taiwan.
People keep saying it’s not worthing the risk and I still don’t get it…
Taiwan isn’t Hong Kong, it’s an independent country
Well... actually not many contries regonize Taiwan and an independent contry, even most "normal" people do.
I mean, not even Taiwan themself sees themself as an indenpendent contry.....
Have any kpop group ever been to Taiwan? Too much money from China, not worth the risk to upset the chinese.
Edit: Check it up, I see groups go to Taiwan, so I guess Twice could to, but I guess it's not worth the risk anyway
I think it's mostly about different investment cycles. SME have a lot of older groups that have been on decline or are more or less inactive during long periods like Girls' Generation. But as long as they doing well enough they have them on contract to bring in "easy money" without any need to invest a lot in their promotions.
They probably also understood that with Twice and BP being so dominant the last couple of years it would be hard to launch a new big girlgroup to replace the void after Girls' Generation. Sure they "tested the waters" with Aespa, which is a bit different than both BP and Twice, but does not feel they are all in on Aespa. We proably will see bigger efforts with new girlgroups soon with Red Velvet and Girls' Generation coming closer to their final ends.
Also, the competion is much harder now with more bigger companies that have grown and consolidated, like Hybe.
