doesnt make sense. why does yeseo have more lines than mashiro, bahiyyih and yujin in the album? why does xiaoting have more lines than mashiro and bahiyyih in the album? xiaoting and yeseo are weaker than bahiyyih yet still got more lines (i would say hikaru too but she barely got lines too). mashiro is top 4/3 in vocals yet was in the bottom 4.

even then, bahiyyih couldve got screentime or center time yet got neither one. wake one basically made her invisible throughout the whole debut. she stayed 9/8 in lines in every song besides mvsk (where she was 6th). they couldve at least have her lines in bsides?

and also, in the album distribution all the foreign members+bahiyyih rank 6-9. weird huh? it seems like they didnt want bahiyyih in the group nor wanted the foreign members.

Exactly. People just be saying anything because they don't like Bahiyyih.

If this was truly about "better vocals = more lines", than why did the production pay Mashiro dust?

And as you said, at least they should have given them more screen time. People are so quick to say "so and so is uninteresting/has no presence", but if they are barely in the damn video how are they supposed to have any presence?

I have a feeling kep1er is just gonna be a repeat of gp999 at this point. They will pay some members dust and the fans will find some excuse to defend it (until it happened to their own faves, of course). People say it's just debut and we should be patient, but in general these types of things don't change.

as someone who likes Dayeon just fine, I actually like her less now (through no fault of her own), cause the producers clearly cared a LOT that people who were iffy about her now see her talent and gave her so much time to shine, while they did exactly what the Bahiyyih haters wanted and barely put her in the MV. There's already so many comments on how she got the parts she deserved...etc. They're celebrating. So as someone who likes her, I am pissed about this extreme difference in treatment.

I feel you. I wish they would have been more fair to Bahiyyih and Hikaru. It's a disappointement to be honest, and not gonna lie, I didn't expect them to be so sidelined. I like Dayeon tough, but as you said, the difference in screentime/lines is a bit too much.

I knew I wouldn't be a fan of the song from the trailers. But I'm glad the girls are doing well! Mvsk was a great performance, and I keep OOO and Shine kep version on repeat.

What the average Korean students is put through (ungodly hours studying and doing other busy work) is as inhumane as forced labor, yet they ain't getting paid for shit doing it. Just for a slim chance that one day (maybe) make a lot of money after graduating and finding a high salary job.

An idol, if they have a good company and good parents, would have a MUCH better life if they can deal with the stresses of being an idol. Not everyone is the same. They may be able to easily cope with all the problems idols face, and end up being set for life if they are one of the few gifted teens like Leeseo clearly is.

Yes, debuting as an underage idol is not for everyone. But there's nothing wrong with having a few exceptions. Not everyone if born to live a life of mediocrity. Some at their youth can already be destined for bigger and better things than 99% of the masses.

Work is work and studying is studying. The issue in the case of kpop is that as minors, they are more vulnerable when it comes to managing their finances, work schedules, and their rights in general. Especially since they are away from their guardians, and most companies have very questionable ethics.

Also being an idol doesn't necessarily make you better than working a "regular job". You can be an idol and be mediocre, and you can be a regular person with a very successful life. Most idols do not even make that much money, and a lot of them are not the most talented people in the world. Mediocrity has nothing to do with this.

Also there is a huge possibility that a lot of these children have stage parents.

I think it's important to be honest with these types of conversations. There is a plethora of issues that come with signing a work contract while underage. I didn't watch the video so don't know if it was brought up, but some idols who debuted young also tend to become immature adults, as they have never gotten to truly adult on their own.

All in all, I think it is fantastic that young idols can live their passion to the fullest from a young age, but the kpop industry does not seem sufficiently equipped to protect them.

I don't think it's because of Xiaoting but I'm not gonna lie, the staff got covid excuse does sound like BS. Kpop companies are about their money. Why would they delay a whole debut, and miss the MAMA hype, because of one sick staff member when all the other staff members and the idols themselves have tested negative? Technically, how is that really preventing kep1er from debuting? It just doesn't add up to me.
