that is true, what i mean is hard to achieve the same impact of other groups, and by metrics it's seems like they are on the same level but is not true.

What do you mean by overated? They do produce outstanding music, great personalities and also they are very talented. People need to accept we are moving into a new era, that's all. It's not like older group are being left out at all. BP and Twice still out there, and they are as big as ever.
their music is good, but their success seems very overrated HERE. maybe it's my interpretation. Kpop is bigger now, achieve records is easier now, you have to take that into consideration

seeing how easy girl group hitting the million recently, literally within a week we have 2 gg (RV and OMG) and also ITZY for early january, not to mention others top act like twice, aespa and ive... its safe to say that Blackpink's sales motivate other group to increase their favs sales to the point that 1 million is about to be the new standard for top group (lesserafim is coming soon)
it's because kpop is bigger now, more people buy albums of kpop

lets's be honest, do you see that people know them? I mean everyone knows blackpink or even twice, general public knows these groups. I don't see the same impact with their music, concept or the members. It's like stray kids, they are very succesfull, but general public doesn't know them, like they do with BTS or EXo for example. I don't think they will have the same cultural impact, not even close.
