Is there anyone knows how they funded their solo project? Bighit or themselves? If I'm not wrong Jhope spent his own money for buying the license of CNS?
-
yes, it seems they are all out working on music. Imagine when mixtape jjk with 3 MVs and 13 tracks in KTH are out. ARMY will get really crazy.

I love stats and charts and I think they’re great to see.
The challenge with all data is that methodology and assumptions play a key role in interpretations of data.
(Data nerd dump incoming..cute explaining raccoon for those not interested)
One of my frustrations here (and I know I probably shouldn’t expect that here), but sometimes the methodology isn’t clearly defined on people’s charts or isn’t clearly defined until other data nerd points it out. It frustrates me to read “you can’t argue with facts,” when sometimes the data is weighted to skew towards the conclusion or hypothesis the person is trying to prove (oh, I couldn’t find those numbers, so I only took these OR I did not weight any for inflation.)
I also (overall) find that charts and stats on here never account for inflation, population growth, market share, etc., which again makes it feel like data is being selectively chosen. For example, maybe 600k was the highest sales total of all time in 2011. But 10 years later, generic group X can hit that milestone. Now if your group has 6 million, sure they still blow the others away, but it’s important statistically to show that the goalposts and markers of success have moved. IMO, that tells a more powerful story - that even as the tide, overall sales and expectations have risen, your group is still the front runner. (The recent thread about MV views is a great example of this type of thing...)
Unfortunately, if you try to get in the weeds around methodology and assumptions, you are quickly labeled a “hater” in many of these threads, so half the time I find myself not bothering except when it really gets my data goat.
That type of processed data which includes all those factors is used usually to make market projection in the future, and that's actually not necessary if you just want to see the records. There is nothing wrong to present the records, because records always mean to be broken in future. If some groups have high numbers that is FACT, and also FACT that those numbers one day will be broken by other groups in future. The same case with older groups, they made highest numbers in the past but now their records are broken. It happened all the time.
Why is so difficult to accept that, unless you're a professor in business major or modern culture who asks your student to make projection about kpop industry/economy impact in future.

Don't worry, I have already checked her out when I heard she won, but like you I wasn't a fan of the song.
I wouldn't have commented like this if the op wasn't clearly putting down other female idols and acting all pretentious just because they checked out an underrated female artist that many kpop fans don't know about.
Why are you so pressed? OP just stated his/her opinion about what's so called "talented musician" not just a talented singers like most of idols (not all). You can have vocal range of 7 octaves and high vocal techniques and sure you'll be praised by your family, fans, coach, but that's won't be enough to get recognition as talented musician. You have to deliver your talent into "artistry"products (song/album) which will be reviewed by (qualified) experts

It's great.... but still I think BTS deserved Musician of the Year Award.

"I'm Brad Pitt" LMAO
Is it because he knows Jin a fan of Brad Pitt?

Yes only huge and respected artists get the opportunity. Nirvana's performance is legendary. Especially The Man Who Sold The World. Mariah Carey's performance is legendary too. These are some things which show the artist is respected in mainstream and matured circles. BTS are getting a lot of critical praise for their performance from Rolling Stones to Consequences of Sound.
And MTV actually hinted that some people out there may not be satisfied with their decision to give the unplugged stage to BTS . Receipt? in one of their MTV's twt yesterday something in the line like..." why not now, it's BTS time".. I believe many other artists envy of BTS's opportunity.

BTS with 29 MILL physical album sales (Korean+Japan), 15 BILL spotify streams and more than 30 MILL digital song sales, the GAP with any other KPOP group is sooo big........ WHY ARMY still bother by hate posts/comments in this forum??? they are just a bunch of jealous people

important disclaimer: namjoon is a great rapper, leader, and a great songwriter and producer. he deserves all of the love in the world. i personally think yoongi deserves the main rapper position more based on what he has done. with that out of way, let's get to my actual take on this.
i'm usually perfectly contented with positions in kpop. i believe many companies do a pretty good job with assigning positions to their members based on their levels of talents and visuals. but for bts, i'm confused.

from the videos i've watched of suga, i don't see why big hit can't just switch him to main rapper and rm to lead rapper. i understand if maybe big hit doesn't want to hurt rm's feelings, but i feel rm is simply happy that he is in bts... i mean, he is the leader and is already important to the group enough. i don't see why it would hurt if this were to happen.
back to suga, he can rap 8.3 syllables per second, produce great songs, has a great flow, (joon can do a lot of these things too, but i think suga does them at a higher level tbh.) and he's consistent. is that not main rapper material?

You're trying to be polite while belittling joon's capability in rapping. Do you understand hip hop rap? or you're just comparing to idol rap?
I don't know much about rapping either, but I watched and read some hiphop reviews. Suga is good in producing and rapping idol rap, but imo joon really expert in creating immaculate verses which is the essence in hiphop rap, remember BTS was intended to be hiphop group. Unfortunately those verses are in korean which are not easy to translate and to grasp the meaning (word play) and non-khiphop fans would be difficult to enjoy it.
I like songs produced by suga but not much for his rap except his rhythm, but combined with joon and jhope they're all superb.

Can you post a tweet to confirm it ? I tried looking up on twitter, but couldn't find anything ?
@fatimafarha_
I checked again, it's under her twt and its only predicted because the shows usually take 43 min.

Based on the different outfits are they really only doing about 4 songs? That’s strange, usually unplugged performances last an hour or two, so I hope it’s gonna be the case for them as well.

At least they’re still doing a cover like usual
They said it would be 12 songs

The crazy thing is that so many music related accounts advertising this event: MTV, MTV UK, MTV France, MTV Japan, Rollingstone Mag, Variety, CoS, Pitchfork,USA Today........
Uuuh I hope this will bring more populatiry to BTS
-
Which u like more
you should give an option for "both"

280K...about my expectations. Fangirls only open up their purses for their oppars.
No, you're wrong about the fan girls BTS the only one like to spend their money
BTS got very high viewers becoz army's demographic is very wide, and their music and performances are family friendly. so the dad's/mom's readily open their purse for their kids
-
Do you have info for all idol groups? I mean not only 3rd gen
-
You can also check it out directly at : http://koreanmusicawards.com/
after listening to some nominees of the GRAND PRIZE, I'm optimist BTS can bring home Recording of The Year and Musician of the Year. Song of the Year for Dynamite, it depends on how the jury weigh the language/lyric in their scoring system.
