Would certainly be banned at music shows lol. However I feel like male idols or boy groups would rather get a pass on such choreo than female idols/girl groups
Personally I don‘t really mind such choreos as long as the idols aren‘t underage or forced to do it

I love Jessi‘s vocals

AKMU, if you count them as a group lol
Plus they‘re not a gg.
Other than that I‘d say early Girls Generation didn‘t do rap

I‘m not really sure whats going on behind closed doors at YGE but I‘ve got the strong assumption that at first YGE was willing to use Lisa as a cash cow. Hence why she got a good amount of modelling jobs, advertisement deals and the judge position in YWY.
YGE probably then realized that Lisa got even more popular through all those things, being the most well known BP member. That’s where the issue lies. YGE certainly doesn’t want a foreign member to be the most popluar. To be the first one that comes to your mind when thinking of BP.
So I guess they are actively trying to reduce her spotlight. Of course they won‘t cancel every single one of her endorsements since she‘s a really important source of income for YGE. Yet still there seems to be some disapproval with Lisa being the most popular member within the company.

She has not officially left. They made an announcement that she was not participating in this comeback. There was mention of contract negotiations. Perhaps a clause was added to the contract which she or her family is mulling over. If she was born in Asia, it would probably be a no-brainer to them but she was born in the States. Hopefully it's not going to be another Samuel situation.
Thanks for explaining! It must be some more severe issuses regarding her contract. Otherwise they probably wouldn‘t exclude her from an entire comeback.
I really hope she doesn‘t quit. Vocally she brings so much to the table.
I doubt that the girls could easily replace her position in the group.

Powerful and precise execution of every move is needed to make Kiel’s choreo look good.
Otherwise it will give a dull impression.
The overall issue with YG GGs is that they tend to cut short on the moves and rather focus on saving up their stamina for live vocals/connecting with fans instead of sticking to the choreo, etc.
That‘s totally fine and just showcases how carefree YG artists can be on stage.
However that doesn‘t match well with Kiel‘s style of choreographing. That‘s why Blackpink‘s dances contain a lot of quote on quote 'weird/atrocious/dull' moves. It‘s really just a matter of execution.
The only thing that’s kinda annoying with Kiel‘s choreos for Blackpink is the huge amount of recycled steps that are used all over again. Even though I‘m not quite sure if YGE is actually the one demanding similar choreo or if it‘s really Kiel who‘s deciding it. Nevertheless YGE seems fine with recycled steps, otherwise they would change the choreos itself or hire a different choreographer.

Rosé’s makeup ruins the look for me. I get that the makeup artist probably tried to achieve an avantgardish look but unfortunately it makes Rosé look sickly.
She‘s got such a pretty face. Why did they have to turn her into a literal water corpse?!

Cl is the definition of inauthentic. She goes on interviews and say that she's nothing like her stage persona but then she also insists on sticking to that fake persona and promoting it. That's the opposite of empowerment, which is apparently her concept. I can never stand behind this, not to mention that the music itself is bad.
I partly agree with your point.
I think the reason why she hasn‘t shown a more authentic side of herself is heavily linked to her past at YGE.
YG himself pushed her into that bad bitch persona. That‘s clearly visible when you compare her image in the first few years in 2NE1 to the last few years in the group. YG + YGE realized that her reputation as a badass rapper was quite marketable and profitable. They never really gave CL the opportunity to show off a softer side (in her solo work, not speaking of 2NE1).
CL just keeps sticking to that specific concept and doesn‘t really seem able to show any other side of herself. That‘s probably because she feels a lot of pressure from the public, since they‘re kinda expecting her to be that savage performer. I mean just take a look at some articles or videos about idols with the best stage presence or the most badass idols. She‘s always listed there. So I assume she pressures herself to fullfil those expectations.
Plus it would be a great risk to come up with a totally new concept. Remember that she‘s no longer under a big company. One flop comeback can literally break her neck.

Personally I‘m not a huge fan of her title tracks either. I don‘t really like the sound nor the lyrics.
HOWEVER her b sides slap. Great vocals and meaningful lyrics.
I believe she’s struggling to find her own style. People still see her as the badass bitch and that‘s why she‘s probably trying to please them with her title tracks. If you listen to the side tracks you‘ll notice that she‘s actually a great songwriter and capable of so much more.

Love both songs but I do listen to View way more since it’s more upbeat and fun. So I have to go with View.

To be honest I‘m more than content that they got that huge amount of attention with Rollin‘. At this point I‘m just happy for the girls. They finally got some recognition and hopefully some cash as well. They really deserve it!
