Seventeen for sure. Their light stick is super pretty.

Probably in the future. If Izone were a permanent group I think they could’ve reached it.

For me kpop generations have a simple rule.
When most of the oldest members of the new groups coming out are younger than most of the youngest members of current groups, then it's a new generation.
That's simply not true yet for 4th gen.
It's the same reason I don't consider G-Idle to be 4th gen.
I don’t consider Idle 4th gen either. Honestly 4th gen started in 2019 to me. Groups that debuted in 2018 just seem like transitional groups between the two gens.
-
You saw one article and ran with it huh
-
well it already happened in 2021
Only one 4th gen group is on the level that 3rd gen groups were at in 2016.
-
Eh I'd say 2021 is 4th gen's 2016. Next Level is kind of the 'Cheer Up' of 4th gen, in the sense that they demolished records and groups from the previous generation were struggling to keep up. Like Next Level is the best charting 2021 idol group song this year.
I would say this year too but only Aespa has dominated like that. In 2016 there were multiple 3rd gen groups dominating. So that’s why I predict 2022 will be like that.
-
And I mean that as in the year where we will finally see 4th Gen groups getting All Kills, sweeping music shows, and winning Daesangs. Following the footsteps of their Seniors.
History’s repeating itself seeing as 2021 has been the equivalent of 2015 with 4th gen groups finally breaking out in the general public along with 2/3 Big 3 companies debuting their new ggs. Just like how BP was the final group to debut during one of 3rd gen’s most iconic years, I predict the same pattern is going to happen with YGNGG.
Also with more groups debuting next years (Kep1er, HYBENGG, SMNBG, YGNGG, JYPNGG, etc) It seems like 2022 is gearing up to be a very iconic year.
So what do you think?

I miss 2016. Such a good year for Kpop.
-
Likey was the peak of cute music in Kpop. Things haven’t been the same since.
-
We’re nowhere near 5th gen...4th gen just started.
-
Now that we’re on the topic, has YG really only given them one comeback this year?
-

I don’t think the general public stopped being interested in idol music, it’s just that the groups that came out weren’t their cup of tea. Now it’s prevalent that the general public are enjoying 4th gen ggs seeing as gidle, izone, aespa, stayc, and IVE have all done well in digitals. They’re just not digging the boy groups yet.

Winter and Jake from enhypen has been going around for months and considering both groups are amongst the top of 4th generation I can see it getting delusional as they fandom grows

Hmm they could but so far i’m not seeing it. Just seems like a fleeting ship imo.

What in the world...

never
no 4th gen group is as big as BTS or will be
and no 4th gen group will be as big as BP ever so nope
now who will be the 4th gen equivalent i wonder
Yea nothing coming close to Lizkook popularity. God the amount of ship videos and analysis the two had during 2016-2018 still haunt me.
-
Isn’t Jennie with GD? Respect her relationship.
-
I mean in terms of delusion, cult following, and the countless amount of edits and videos.
To this day I’ve never seen the appeal of Lizkook.

karina and hyunjin...where’d that even come from?
