Maybe i just grew up in a time when we spoke plainly about things, didnt cotton to any of that politically correct nonsense. It's not racist to point out that someone's pronunciation was bad enough that you had to use subtitles, it's literally a statement of fact, something that literally happened to me.

It was always normal for kpop idols to sing in English. It's ALWAYS been normal. Idols have been singing in English for years. Nobody EVER said anything about it, literally NOBODY CARED.
Then in comes BTS, Bighit and ARMY. Bang Sihyuk who said kpop should be in Korean and groups who sing in English try too hard to gain western approval. BTS who loudly and proudly say 'We will not sing in English, if we suddenly start singing in English it won't be BTS no more. We are proud Koreans and want to become famous for singing in Korean'. ARMY, who immediately started harassing and shitting on every single kpop group who has ever released an English song, accusing them of trying to gain 'western validation', literally saying that BTS are superior Koreans unlike others, that they are better Koreans than the groups that have English songs. Y'all were shouting EVERYWHERE 'YASSS kings for refusing to sing in English!! Spreading Korean language!!!! Unlike other girls!!!!' Y'all been giving SO MUCH SHIT to other groups for singing in English for fucking years.
What happened then?! BTS and Bighit forget all their promises, their Koreanness and loud claims that they will never have an English songs! 'Oh umm yea we decided that we will sing in English, turns out becoming popular and charting in America with Korean song is very hard but we really want that Hot100 so we planned this shitty English track, thank god we can use the pandemic as an excuse :((('. And ARMY suddenly go 'Singing in English is normal!! Worry about your flop faves!' Like all the years of harassing idols for English songs never happened!

Three reasons.
First, many of us are Americans not Japanese. Maybe if you visit a Japanese forum, you might find some folks who dont like when Kpop bands do Japanese songs, whether it's BTS or any other band.
Secondly, Japan and Korea are a lot closer culturally than Korea and the US. However frigid their political relations, the two countries are deeply intertwined.
Thirdly, the problem with Dynamite for me as a KA is that the boys pronunciation was so bad i literally couldnt understand the lyrics at times. I had to use subtitles. If youre going to sing an ALL ENGLISH SONG, it would be best if the English speaking audience could understand it. Contrast this with Ice Cream, i understood every word, or even Twice's English versions, most members have obvious accents but i can clearly make out every word.
I think how Kpop songs are mostly a mix of English and Korean is actually perfect. This is how many Koreans talk, mixing English and other foreign words with Korean, i literally grew up listening to my parents speak like that to me. This is part of Kpop's charm and addictiveness for me.

Being belittled by K-media and Big companies doesn't make a group a nugu. That's just big companies showing their power. "Nugu" literally means "who?" They achieved monumental success that year. Nugus don't outsell the big 3 and BTS did twice. Nugus don't sell 2 million albums in a year. Nugus don't chart their songs for years. People who were petitioning were the fans of other groups who are used to winning. Small Company? Yeah sure but wasn't BTS always bigger than their company. BTS was beating everyone internationally with them starting to lift off with US fame. If you're up to date, then you wouldn't even claim Nugu for 2016 BTS. I stand by what I said, if 2016 BTS is nugu then 95% of today's popular kpop groups are nugus
