I am confused about whether is it legal for NJs to terminate their contract without the approval of Ador because I don't think it is legal.
Contract is a legal agreement that is signed for both side. In order for one side to terminate a contract, they need to show that the other side have violate any term that is written on the contract at the court. Like you cannot just held a press conference, said that Ador violate terms and we can leave hybe with the clause without paying.
I don't think Ador will let them go so they will take this to court.

Former CEO Min Heejin has provided a statement regarding the civil lawsuit related to the "ILLIT plagiarism controversy."
The 12th Civil Division of the Seoul Western District Court will hold the first hearing on January 10 next year for the 2 billion won compensation lawsuit filed by Belift Lab, the agency behind ILLIT, against former CEO Min Heejin. The court has confirmed the trial schedule after reviewing both parties' opinions. In the process, it is reported that Belift Lab requested a speedy trial by submitting a date-setting request and claimed that Min Heejin had intentionally delayed the proceedings.
In response, a representative of Min Heejin's side told Star News on the 18th, "Despite concrete testimony from an internal whistleblower at HYBE and clear similarities, they are denying it and misleading public opinion." The representative continued, "It is HYBE and Belift Lab who have brought up this issue that could have been resolved internally to the public, spreading numerous falsehoods and committing interference with business and defamation." They added, "We should reflect on who is using their own rookie artists as a shield to claim interference with business, without considering the damage done to NewJeans."

It's interesting cause If you compare to RIIZE, for example, even me who doesn't follow anything about them at all have seen multiple trending topics about the songs and the members Itself all across Pann, TheQoo and the korean side of Twitter. So their hype is completely understandable in my point of view.
But I only see people commenting on TWS to discuss about how they are shocked at their charting and I mean, people shouldn't be shocked at what is super trending in their own country, I suppose.
That's why TWS's charting is so sus and Korean have every right to questioning them for doing sajaegi. However, international kpop fans is just gonna say you are hater when they clearly know nothing why korean question it.
