Among big 3, JYPE has been reporting the better net profit among big 3 despite low revenues. It's not just about net income to revenue ratio, but the total number in KRW itself. YGE and SME seemed has better revenues, but low net profit.

Since 2016, the same excuses given by those company stans : YGE and SME invest for the futures. But it's been 5 years... And it seems Hybe also have huge revenues, but in term of profit, it's just around JYPE's profit

Recently, the big 4 companies - HYBE Corporation, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and YG Entertainment - released their financial reports for the first quarter of 2021 (January, February, March).

    HYBE Corporation

178.3 billion KRW in sales (~156.8 Million USD)

21.7 billion KRW in operating profit (~19.1 Million USD)

15.8 billion KRW in net income (~13.9 Million USD)

    JYP Entertainment

32.3 billion KRW in sales (~28.4 Million USD)

13.7 billion KRW in operating profit (~12 Million USD)

12 billion KRW in net income (~10.6 Million USD)

    SM Entertainment

154.2 billion KRW in sales (~135.7 Million USD)

15.38 billion KRW in operating profit (~13.5 Million USD)

8.67 billion KRW in net income (~7.6 Million USD)

    YG Entertainment

97 billion KRW in sales (~85.3 Million USD)

9.53 billion KRW in operating profit (~8.4 Million USD)

8.65 billion KRW in net income (~7.6 Million USD)

For Gfriend, Soumu already being "eaten" by Bighit. In my opinion, Bighit intention was never focus on Gfriend or Seventeen. But rather the company mainly wanted to focus on the company' IPO (Initial Price Offer) as public company. Before the company managed to acquire GF and SVT, the investors were skeptical about the price for IPO, because they thought Bighit depended too much on BTS. And BTS would soon be enlisted. TXT hasn't produced enough success story in term of recognition in kpop. With the acquisitions, Bighit chance for better IPO rose. The price for those 2 acquisitions are negligible compare to money raised from successul IPO.

Hence, after the IPO, Bighit doesn't need Soumu or GF anymore. GF itself is already 7 years old group. Maximum they can milk the group for another 3 years, but the problem is GF itself is barely part of top group. The group couldn't match up to TWICE, BLACKPINK or RED VELVET anymore or perhaps MAMAMOO, or worse the group is slowly left out by ITZY, IZONE (disband soon), EVERGLOW, GIDLE... etc.

    ADDED:

I would guess that Soumu purposely wasn't given enough fund by parent company, hence cannot offer adequate contract to Gfriend. If my prediction is right, Seventeen might have similar problem in the future when they want to negotiate new contract.

Bighit as a company that produce BTS, with huge money that they raised, the company would surely want to create and to focus on new GG that has longer lifespan, which the company has better control over the image, and produce better legacy for Bighit's name in term of the origin of the creation.

    What's next? Seventeen disband?

those years were scandal after scandal, and no one is going to invest in a company that just got involved in kpop's biggest scandal. in blackpink was still very young, no one would invest on yg considering bigbang wast inactive, gd was gone, in rest of the years coachella happened in second half of 2019 and blackpink didn't had a full album so not stable to invest in 2020 blackpink had their album but again it was in 4th quarter of 2020 so we will see benefits of it in 2021

But how about BP concert and touring? Which I recalled was called among the biggest, even surpassed TWICE numbers?
