Well, this just came to my mind:
"But mama I'm in love with a criminal
And this type of love isn't rational, it's physical..."

Congrats to them! :)
Now this was a hard choice! GGs got great releases this year, hands down!
If he is truly slept on then it's a shame! (╯▔皿▔)╯ But I think it's just that he did yet to make an "official debute". I am real excited for what he will put out next! He has everything what one needs to make it big! And everything that I need from music! (❁´◡`❁)
1) I agree, some opinions are better left in the draft (not because of an unfavorable take, but because there is no need to criticise things beforehand).
I always wished some fans will understand that you don't have to like everything. With Bts we are lucky to have a group with diverse musical interests, sometimes showing support means giving a listen without judgement. Then if you didn't like it you don't have to listen to it. Why do people feel entitled to trash musical styles just for not liking them?

I missed the early 2000s R&B-sound so NewJeans's Attention was the winner for me, felt fresh and nostalgic at the same time. The teenage vibes even evoked my childhood memories.
I still loved Fearless for the deep voiced anti drop and strong womenly vibes, while Wadada was great for the magical atmoshpere and heavy bass.
I feel like you simplified this. Fans blame the company, non-fans blame the group mostly. It is the nature of a human who adors or hates one or another.
Although this time around I can see why fans are pointing fingers because I feel like Itzy has such a phenomenal charisma and performing skills it's actually mind blowing, but they had so many bad releases (as in bad songs) that you can't stick with them only for being more than great on stage. And because music is on the company all you have to blame is the company.
While I don't think Itzy is a vocally gifted group, they can do way better than what they got in the last year. I understand the trendyness of spoken lyrics but for heavens sake, some melody and vocal is needed at least. Even with limited vocal campabilites one can do a lot. And again, with the image I felt like we were hopping between mature women and teenege wannabees. I felt disconnected.
For me it makes sense. Le Sserafim is way more ahead into their careers, it just makes sense that they will debute first on US radio (even if they weren't more popular internationally). New Jeans is yet to have a comeback, which will show us how big of a core fandom they truly gathered and where they are truly based (I guess they will be in Korea).
It can be that although they are still friends they feel already over that part of their lives. And on another note: releasing music takes a lot of time, work, discussions and money. If they are not backed by a company then it could be quite difficult to get everything in order. If they want to profit then they can't just release, they do have to promote and rally up enough fans from the past, have some direction and image, goals, etc. Not speaking about the technicalities, like: is it their goal to establish themselves again, or do they want just make music in the remembrance of old times? I feel like it's not that simple to release music just for fun or come back after many years passed. But these are only my thoughts.

I for one agree on the fact, that songs written about something personal, sung by the person themselves catch me in the feels way more deeply. Altough, many times I do still like songs written and sung by different people, but in those cases the emotional deepness is often missing. In some cases however, when the singer and the writer get on the same page, and the singer or another writer shows great lyrical skill, then I do get chills. But many groups do these soulless catchy tunes with wathever trendy and swallow lyrics - I can't feel anything about those. On another note, if someone writes down something catchy but full of their own vibes, I do get excited... It's difficult, but still, I do enjoy songs better where singers at least take part in the progress and try to connect to their art. I dropped groups for just being all around products.
Anyway, I try to not differenciate and I hope I never catch myself to outright hate on any kind of not self-producing idol, but I do think it has to be respected if someone is capable of self-producing with good results, cause that is a pinnacle of art: being able to do, both make and perform art. It is more than being able just do one or the other. Must not to shame, but do give respect!
(And a little note about this: I for one like Ive's Eleven but was never crazy about the lyrics because it makes no sense at all, too vague and lacks real narrative, but when I found out the original lyrics! I was mindblown. I had such a wow moment!)
People say Bts is fandom driven because even their less successfull songs beat most "GP driven groups" ULs (which means they actually have way more GP attention than so called "not fandom driven" groups). In that sense, Bts has the Gp almost as a fandom. And for a fact, that's not normal. And because many of their songs spike even higher, we definetly can say that they have Gp's attention, and when Gp is not that into the song then they just give a listen and go on their way.
All in all, when Bts has a comeback, people take notice. They are at that point where Gp is always curious.
To be honest, I thought being this way is normal for a kpop community, but I have seen other examples so it's an akp thing. Because at the moment more views come frome troll and bait threads, rules are made to let them be. And this way trolls are multiplying but users for less patience for that are leaving. Strong fandoms have luck with numbers cause they can outpower trolling, but smaller fandoms are losing members to this.
I think if akp wanted to stop it they could have, but they just don't see it as a good business because of the clicks. And because news are fresh here, people still stick, and you get this passive agressive community.
Hardcore threads are artificial! They can't get the akp gp so they use armys!
They should not do that...
The new layout is okay, I like some of the styles. There is too much ads though and I liked the old sections better. But I could get used to this, it's just the athmosphere that isn't that good. I don't know why but the threads are often hostile and aggressive. It may be because I am not a fan of trolling. I come around from time to time but not that often anymore. I am a little sad about it. Many friends are gone too.
