Hairstylist deserves immediate termination. A good look for Nayeon...when she was twelve years old.

Infection rates are lower in asia pacific because of diet. Almost 80% of global infected were either overweight or obese.
To be precise, it's the severity of illness that is strongly affected by excess weight. Asians get the virus...and tend to quickly get over it, like any other respiratory virus. Healthy people in other countries get the virus...and quickly get over it, like I did back in January.
Overweight, pre-diabetic, Vitamin D-deficient people get the virus and end up in the hospital, just like they do every single year during flu season.
The reckoning that is coming for authoritarian government officials when Millennials around the world finally figure out how badly they have been played will be epic.

I think there can be a benefit to that - especially for a group from a big company. aespa already has immense interest from the public - they aren't some nugu group from a tiny company who needs every scrap of exposure they can get.
By holding back on doing variety shows and a lot of silly web content it gives the group an air of mystery, and the public takes their actual music releases more seriously.

But there is this charm about kpop pre-2014ish or so that it has largely lost and I can't put my finger on it.
I want to say is was the increasing global and international presence that became too much to bear and has ultimately thrown kpop into a more 1 for 1 match up with the ubiquity of international trend.
I know kpop has always been influenced by international elements. But it seemed out of step enough pre middle 10s decade that it still had this distinct charm.
That I would argue has been lost.
And I can't quite say what exactly it is about the music. But I feel it whenever I review large swaths of discographies from earlier years to now.
Either that or I just don't like the modern way they make songs and the sounds and vibe they go for.
I don't know what it is exactly.
You already identified it - too much imitation of vulgar Western female pop "artists" and far too much hip hop influence. Songs from 2014 and earlier had more of a Korean feel to them, like something developed internally rather than borrowed from Warner Music.
But all is not lost - when a newer group puts out material with more of a 2nd Generation sound, we tend to like it right away:

K-Pop peaked in 2015.

This would be very temporary - you would quickly be replaced over and over again with more willing contestants, seriously limiting your earning potential. :)

I support this. I watch Chinese dramas more often, anyway - since my wife speaks Mandarin and the K-Dramas are all the same: Poor girl meets rich boy and must defeat evil and manipulative mother-in-law to keep him. :)

Well, watch this video and then Panorama. I dare you to tell the vocalists apart. :D

Objective standards of beauty exist - they are rooted in our biology.
But many more people can achieve those standards than actually do.
