Well, that's a damn shame. Guess she is no longer my bias.

It's always the same idols and its always the same fans with their tired excuses "tHeiR FaMilIeS WiLl Be iN dAnGeR$!!11!" "ThEy HaVE nO ChOicE!!11" "bLaMe ThE GoVernMenT!!11"
So glad I stopped being obsessed with Kpop idols. God forbid I ever let my brain rot in this kind of way.

if she stays in Kpop and even better join bighit she won't have to worry about that. Just look at Irene or Tayeon, Hyorin, BOA, and even more recently Brave Girls. There are many female idols who are almost thirty or 30+ and still do well. The great think about being a Kpop idol unlike with AKB is that fans tend to stick around long term. Even longer for male idols.

izone has cute songs, but they also have girl crush songs or colorpop songs. But those are all B-side songs so this comparison doesn't even make sense because they don't share the same concept as Twice.
Izone concept is elegant concept and you are better off comparing them to groups like WJSN or Lovelyz or April.

Soon. I literally just came back because of Iz*One disbandment, there is little else holding me here other than the prospective futures of the Iz*One girls (specifically Wonyoung and Yujin). I want to see StarshipNGG.
After that I will see the new debuts this year.
If all of them disappoints me then I'm leaving for good.

rather than mean or selfish or fake or anything like that, I've always had the impression that Chaewon has a lot of confidence, in a sassy but slightly condescending way, like Cute but catty. Think Sharpay from HSMS.
Edit: As for her response about her taste in guys she entitled to her own opinion (she was freaking kid back then anyway) only weird older men who weren't her type would be mad.

Hitomi is one of my favorites in Iz*One and I think she's super cute but its true that she doesn't fit the conventional beauty standard. Nako is in a similar situation due to her height. It's honestly a shame. They are more likely to be picked to be put in a group only if it's large and needs extra members.

Nobody knows IZ ONE in Japan, they are a niche act, and most of their sales are from wotas, see the sales pattern, 90% of IZ ONE sales are the first day, similar to groups 48
Sakura might do well abroad, but in Japan no, in Japan no one knows her, and 99% of her fan base is 48 wotas. Many kpopies believe that she is known by the GP because some brand used her for some advertising, but they ignore that brands also use LDH idols for advertising and their does not know them either.
And the comparison with IZ ONE is wrong, because when she joined IZ ONE she did not leave HKT, now she would leave HKT to go to a K-pop company, and her fan base (wotas) would see it as a treason.
Finally, no idol who has graduated from a group 48 has succeeded after, see the sales of people much more relevant than Sakura, such as Mayu Watanabe or Tomomi Itano.
You clearly don't know anything about Iz*One and I don't want to waste time arguing with you. I have a short fuse when it comes to nonsense so I'm holding my tongue. What I wrote earlier is so people who aren't completely unaware about the situation don't get the wrong idea. Also, google is free. It don't take nothing but a few clicks to educate yourself about a group.

#1
Iz*One was not carried by AKB wotas fans in Japan.
2#
Majority of AKB fans are old, uncle fans many of which actually hate Kpop and did not support Iz*One and are probably the main ones who are mad.
#3
Majority of Iz*Ones fans in Japan are women, or Kpop fans.
#4
The AKB members were not sole reason for Iz*One album sales in Japan. Outside of Sakura, most of the Korean members outsold both Nako and Hitomi. Minju, Chaewon, Wonyoung, and Yuri for example.
#5
how many times do we have to explain the same thing over and over before you guys understand that Iz*One is and has never been "Sakura and friends" or "AKB members and friends" 🙄
#6
Juri comparison is a false equivalent. Again, AKB wotas don't care about Kpop. If Sakura had run off to join a nugu group in a small company she would likely be no better off than Juri right now. But Sakura joined Iz*One. A group from a big name company that had all the connections, hype, and fanbase pre-established so she did well because she was able to gain access to a bigger fan base off the bat. Juri does not have that privilege. She has to start from the very bottom to build a fanbase since her group is nugu from a mid company. Basically: Sakura does not need wotas anymore and if she wasn't aware of it herself she may have went back to HKT48. Whatever girl group she joins is going to do well no matter what because it will a BigHit girl group and she now has a new fanbase comprised of Kpop fans willing to support her.

Even if Sakura went back to HKT what left is there for her to achieve? Not only has AKB48 has been flopping for a while, going down hill and being beaten by the 46 groups, but she already won #2 place (or #3?) Sousenkyo. She is 22 and no longer on the younger side for most Jpop idol girls. And the average AKB girl gets paid like $11 dollars and hour. Bigger earners like Sakura get fixed salaries of like 200k a year. She would make more as a Kpop idol.

AKB fans are inconsequential. I don't know if people don't realize this, but majority of AKB fans (old, creepy men) never followed Iz*One. Iz*One's main fan base in Japan were women and people who were already Kpop fans. Sakura in the meanwhile has gained way more fans than she had in AKB and is now on a global scale. Basically: she doesn't really need them. Furthermore AKB is on its last leg anyway, it nowhere near where it once was in terms of popularity, and Sakura was going to graduate sooner or later, so it makes sense she does it now while the iron is still hot and her global popularity is high.
BigHit also can open way more doors for her.
I think she made a very smart choice.
Juri is where she is at now because unlike Sakura, she never joined a major label or group, and didn't get to gain the same amount of news fans. AKB fans don't care about Kpop groups so Juri went in knowing she was going to have to start all over to gain fans.

Oh, okay. It actually makes sense. Still could have chosen a better sounding name than HYBE.

I'm a bit in both worlds. While I'm not happy to see them disband I'm not really sad either. I'm looking forward to the new GG that will soon follow.
1). New WM girl group. Looks like almost an ITZY remake with 6-7 girls doing dance heavy choro's. Seems fitting sister-sister going head to head as both groups will then have 3 main dancer potentials for each group.
2) New Startship GG. WJSN never really got the attention it deserved and by now it is really too late for them to achieve that recognition. It can happen and it should have but just didn't so have high expectations and such for the new group.
3) Everglow getting Yena will hopefully help out their domestic sales as they are a great group and adding her will help and hopefully a lot.
4) Rocket punch. They also are a great group and need some more push that Chaewon/Eunbi may give them. Not 100% sure Eunbi won't join them but even if she doesn't Chaewon will give them hopefully fans. I do think Eunbi will go solo and that would be great to see too.
5) 8D creative new GG. I don't know much about it and I wasn't a super fan of Hyewon. So not sure what to expect. What I hope for is for their GG to be absolutely phenomenal and blow me and everyone away and essentially show me as being a fool for not stanning her. I mean I'm already a fool but I want her and their gropu to shove it in m face
This is interesting. I didn't know about WM or 8D. I agree though. I liked and supported Iz*One a lot, but I think there were things Swings and OTR could have done better. The members still have so much potential and I think they will finally get the opportunity to showcase it and show their own individual colors.
Rather than an ending, I see this as a new beginning. The real survival begins now and I'm excited to see how the girls grow from here.

HYBE? lol why even.

hmm seems I'm the only one happy about this 🤷
I can't wait for what Starship does with Wonyoung and Yujin. The potential these two have is astounding. Finally they can spread their wings. Starship, I'm counting on you to renew my interest in kpop! Fighting!
Also, I still can't get used to this new look of the forum. On mobile it is absolute garbage.
