so i just watched both babymonster and meovv bc people said that they sounded just like blackpink, and tbh I thought that they actually went out of the YG formula thankfully
I think the girls are really good and talented, the songs and MVs are high quality and the girls deliver it all well, BUT I don't know if they found their sound yet. It sounds great but also there's nothing that made any of the songs stand out if I played any of them in a playlist.

I'm writting here because I didn't find any other individual thread for this, but damn watching Bigbang perform in MAMA as 3 really make me go down on memory lane bc I remember I watched their 2015 MAMA performance and so many things have changed since then, for both the group and the kpop industry.
- a new kpop global hit, last year it was cupid, this year magnetic, it seems like the pattern is cute song +girl group
- new jeans big redebut with all members, don't know if with the same name but I predict it'll be like a big big event in kpop
- one 3rd generation idol will go public with their relationship
- not really a prediction but bts world tour, and i'm really curious to see what musical direction the group will take from now on since all the members were able to work on their solo careers
I like the lyrics, they're really pretty, surprised that it's the follow up for APT but I'm betting on a more upbeat song for her debut album single

Most aspiring idols probably just want success however they can get it. They're probably not thinking about where it comes from, although a Korean idol may not even be considering the possibility of success anywhere but Korea at first. That's likely going to be their default frame of mind, not "I want to be famous in the west."
That being said, American stardom in particular does tend to open the doors to international stardom more than anything else, even if this is probably more true for actors than singers, so a savy wannabe celebrity might still have their sights set on it for this reason alone.
