Responding to the title It's easily because labels are now training idols to be at least decent in many things rather then letting them master a specific skill to debut them quickly. In the short term it seems like a resonable thing to do, but then when idols enter in the industry is way more difficult for them take lessons if they want to get better in one specific skill. Right now Kpop is more focused on dancing and giving a performance, so the skill that usually is under-developed is singing
