Lol no. They did well for Either Way and Off the Record.
Well, this is why I said imo. You can disagree with me but I still think they didn't pull them off well.

Blop for me.
Flop. The word baddie being repeated to oblivion and the rap talking was annoying but it still managed to be flat. The mv was a huge no.
I know that they tried different things this comeback but it's fascinating that imo, they didn't manage to pull off successfully any of the three concepts. The choice of songs had everything to do with that.
They knew this but due to hubris, arrogance and trying to make a political move to benefit themselves they were looking to use BTS to sway the Younger generation into their ideals on politics this is normal in like every country how politicians out of touch with reality and the young people of their nation will go do shit they think is hip or cool and will earn them brownie points when it's A something the people NEVER asked for and B isn't solving a issue people have. This was their solution to our current issues with inflation, housing crisis etc and the current issue in which military enlistment was due to be decreased and calling reform to goto full professional volunteer military force like that of the USA. But instead of tackling that they go hero derp🤡🤡🤡 idol exemption with BTS as the face of it great idea 🤡😂🤡!
Instead of that now we have I clowns 🤡🤡 arguing over wether BTS deserves it etc and fighting Koreans over irrelevant shit they don't care about when they have real shit that needs solving.
Well, this is a kpop forum and we talk about things that are relevant to kpop idols and Korea. Shocking, I know.
At the end of the day none of the posts here will make any difference even if we wear our fingers talking about it but since the very definition of a forum is discussing things and expressing opinions, this is what happens here.
I suppose you have problems you need to solve and random opinions of strangers shouldn't be your first priority nor should they trigger you. Lead by example.
Display MoreThis is the stupid strawman argument. Faker and his team were exempt because of their performance in the Asia games the rules and laws in place were designed to facilitate who won the gold medal and brought that prestige home in representation of the nation basically showing the world Korea had the best athletes in any number of sports around the world. This is a metric that cannot be refuted as it's purely off the individuals abilities alone.
This was NOT about who's More popular or who did more. If that were the case the entirety of Samsung and all the family members would be exempt for life for all generations because i guarantee you Samsung is more popular and has done more for Korea than BTS ever could and even more for the world too for the last 70yrs and going. Hell BTS wouldn't even exist without Samsung as many of the things idols do relied on certain technology being developed etc.
But the exemption isn't based off popularity or "importance" it was based solely on a person's individual abilities that can be measured by another scientifically.
Kpop doesn't enjoy the same standards because you can't realistically measure it. Because a idols popularity and thus importance is measured by their fans and that brings intentional bias aka conflict of interest meaning the fans will be unwilling to give the opponents the same level of critic that they give their faves. People will say well BTS are the best singers best dancers etc but at the same time you can find people out there who are better singers better dancers or work just as hard or even harder. But don't have the same success and that's due to alot of factors could be the wrong music genre the timing of their debut, the type of group it is the type of agency they are from how is it managed? Do they advertise the group etc etc you hear countless stories of OMG xyz has fire why is this a "flop" nugu, because many things outside of their control failed them. People forget that alot of luck is part of kpop too.
Last i checked when it comes to athletes or Olympics etc they were picked by being literally the best in the world by being directly compared to the actual abilities of others that compete against them. They are NOT voted on by the masses or have huge fanbases that can fudge the results and vote xyz to be number 1 even if they finished last in a race. That's not how this works.
BTS didn't get exempted because they are idols not athlete's that's it.
You are a little late. You should have told this to all those Korean politicians that dragged the discussion for quite some time and made the country look embarrassing instead of telling me.
Unfair or not, at the end of the day it was Korean politicians who dragged this issue for years and made themselves and the country look embarrassing ( along with the other companies inserting themselves into the situation to benefit from the discussion) while 3 of the BTS members are already serving and the others are going.
I think at this point it's pointless discussing it. According to those articles, Faker is more popular, more important and he did for the country way more than BTS so kudos to him and his team for getting an exemption.
Despite the difficulties faced by women in this industry, we should bear in mind that not every woman wants to get married and have children.
The video is nice but the song is super bland.
It's been a while since I liked an NCT song but I liked this one. The beat is really good. Good job NCT127.
Flop I am afraid. This talking/ rapping was too much and it was annoying.
Blop I guess.
With both of these preleases we can see the success of New Jeans and Cupid made them do something similar, probably to reach a more international audience. But both Either way and this song lack the catchiness of the other two groups ' songs and even the catchiness of previous I've songs .
I wonder what the tt will sound like. Maybe they will try a BP style. That would be really interesting to see.
Well, by reading this thread I assume it's Faker and the e gamers team. That's cool.
Since it being so, I suppose next time the government messes up an event like the Jamboree or when someone really important visits Korea, they will keep asking them to be there to clean the mess instead of BTS.
Seriously, how can 7 lowly men who will be serving because they didn't do much for Korea to deserve exemption even compare. They are more needed in the military.
(This is obviously sarcasm because at this point this whole thing is a huge joke. )
The way Korea handled the BTS exemption situation made the country look like a joke.
oh.. the disconnect
To follow your example, I will say there's a 90% possibility you are a Korean man. Or just this works for Hybe staff members?
also, dont ever for a second think not being " over sexual" is a knock on korean society - if anything , it's a compliment - studies have shown that there are less violent, sexual or any crimes in general in a "normal' society - which is bascially what korea is.
there's A LOT of debate back and forth but .. from a sociological, psychological, and many other branch of science's point of view, you dont want to have an "over sexual" society - it opens a sleuth of societal problems you don't even want to think about. - higher crimes, more corruption, being afraid to walk at night- and a host of societal mental issues you dont ever want to encounter.
Korea is everything but a normal society. If anything is one of the sickest ones in almost every aspect.
Bop
After the first listen I thought I liked it but still liked Seven more. And then I listened to the Alt. Version and now I can't pick.
JH 's part is bad and feels off, like it doesn't fit the song but thankfully JK being JK makes up for that bad part.
I like it too. It's a fun catchy song
Display Morewe're not talking about young pple - we're talking about these boomers in the comments.
and yes, KOREA, for the most part , is a conservative society - esp the general public in terms of sexuality.
if you didnt know, PORNOGRAPHY is illegal in korea, along with adult magazines, etc..
and unlike countries... such as the US where we tend to oversexualize just about everything - they, for the most part.. dont. - it's very culturally rooted in their society - you see this in their variety shows and their take on certain cultural issues.
and believe it or not, depending on how liberal or conservative a society is in regards to certain cultural aspect- such as sexuality in this case - changes how they think about certain issues.
what may not be a big issue to us, is a HUGE deal over there - and vice versa on issues they maybe liberal on and we're conservative on.
there are* studies* on the effect of these differences have on a society's impression and perception toward certain things - from anything basic as to to how food is perceived up to complications of personal relationships.
the difference doesnt even have to be "uber" - even minor differences in sexual perception changes drastically in societal circumstances - such as social motivations for success, what you want in a partner, what you want to do on dates, etc - it gets more and more complicated as you dig further in.
nm this if you're korean and if u already know all this btw.
and if u're korean, know.. that western perception when influenced in a society that's overly sexualized, may not make too much sense to you either
Korea is the country where women can't use the toilet without the danger of being filmed and they had even formed a special police unit to check public bathrooms. They had molkas and the nth room. So pornography being illegal did nothing for the oversexuslization of everyday women there.
Anyway, it's not like Lisa went to a random strip club and people have her one dollar bills.
She went to a classy place where the performances there are considered art. And at the end of the day, it's none of people's business how she wants to express her sexuality.
Always spilling
Hardy being proven wrong is one of the most entertaining things on this forum.
