    What’s with all the bullying scandals
    I’m a kpop fan since 2017 and to me it looks like there has been a heavy influx of bullying controversies being spread, exposed, proven or had to be denied in the past 3 or 4 years.
    Have bullying accusations always dominated the news in kpop pre 2017 like they do nowadays? I’m Seriously speechless. It seems like a common thing in korea and the way korean media portrays it, I assume there is a high possibility we all could be stanning bullies or people with attitude problems at this point. I…

    First, we have to understand that school bullying is a huge problem in South Korea and the problem is becoming more prevalent. So that's why there are more people using bullying as an excuse to slander celebrities because of how serious it's become. We also live in an internet age where it's so much easier to say whatever about someone and have it spread everywhere even though you had no evidence except maybe a yearbook photo. That's why many of these accusations end up being proven false. Because people wanna have their share of the clout and attention.

    form of therapy who lived in South Korea and USA said that the bullying in the USA is worst but the reason it look worse in South Korea is because this is a taboo subject

    Because bullying wasn’t taken that seriously back in the day but now it is, plus with cellphones and posts on the internet there’s more than he said she said

    And to answer anon, yes there’s a high probability we’re all stanning bullies and people with personality problems

    the issue with "bullying scandals" and bullying in general is that it's hard to prove!!!


    unless there's physical (police report or doctor's report) or mental (going to see a therapist or something) it's hard to get evidence of such bullying


    the rise of the internet has meant that without such evidence one can make a claim (truthfully or otherwise) and it's up to the court of public opinion to decide validity - not a court
