what are your honest thoughts about PROOF?

  • I think some people overreacted on the negativity, yeah be disappointed it’s not what you wanted but idk what’s so hard to understand that going psycho about it just sounds entitled. Western acts (and I’m evoking them because I’m talking about international fans reaction) make releases based on their whim instead of focusing on profit/fandom expectations and even tho fans complain it dont get to the point of eclipsing the whole thing. Kpop fans are just too entitled, they’ll scream to the sun and beyond how they’re there for the artistry and will hype their faves “artistic choices” but will go full Karen when they don’t get what they expect lol antis aside some fans just have brainwashed themselves that they have to like EVERYTHING BTS puts out when it’s not true, that’s why instead of accepting they’ll make essays about how the cb was ruined because of “x” factors and spread negativity. Honey stop setting up yourself for disappointment, if you like it then you like it, if you don’t just don’t follow it!!!

Anyway I think older armys will agree that bighit has never been the type to do a perfect job when it comes to BTS, esp on management side, they lack A LOT, so I’m not disappointed like most people since I never focused on anything else other than seeing BTS doing promotions :/

Nah they were doing an amazing job until 2019, I never saw any army complain about anything related to the management, imo what BH did prior to 2020 made BTS what they are today but they are the ones that are choosing money over quality these days.

They turned the most anticipated BTS era into the most "meh" era ever

  • I think its better that they didn't put them on Spotify. Demos are not released for a reason.

lots of artists, including Taylor with her recent re-recordings, put demos out onto Spotify. People find it charming and it’s definitely part of the intrigue of these packages that revisit a career/album. it’s a real miss that the English version of Epiphany won’t be on Spotify (at least right away) because I feel like it would do huge numbers.

  • yeah, then let the stream goes to lyrics video, right?
for official song it has copyrighted to original artist, so the original artist will get the royalty. but I am sure all those demo song won't copyrighted on youtube, so those millions views from army or everyone who want to listen to 3rd CD will just go to lyrics video since its not available on Spotify.
    clever..
    whatever..
    I am tired

Then why don't armys mass email Hybe instead of kissing hybes asses.

  • i dont see how it would boost sales to make cd 3 cd only though

its probably because they dont want unreleased songs/demos on spotify

but we could bully them into changing their mind :pepe-narrow-eyes:

Any time you make certain content more rare/exclusive, it’s going to drive sales for that thing. So someone who might have just streamed this on Spotify or Apple, may feel more compelled to buy the physical now. In fact we saw a jump in pre-order rankings just after the announcement. There even was a jump in Google searches for CD players LOL…

Taylor has put her demos on spotify? Can you share the link? She's literally my most streamed act every year.

  • Still a big disappointment.

I can feel clearly that this is such a rushed album and quick cash grab.
From what i read, they didn't even re-record or re-master some tracks, they just put the existing tracks into the album. That doesn't seem like some great effort to me. That's why controversies like that s*ex offender happened. Tony Montana is said to be a MR record from the muster, not even the clean version lol. The designs are tacky and looked like they were made overnight too. That's why I'm laughing at these Armys' theories pretending this album is carefully planned and so important. :pepe-peek:

  • They turned the most anticipated BTS era into the most "meh" era ever

THIS! A lot of people don't like PTD but they were ok with it because they thought the next comeback would bring some new and better. Even those who liked it were anticipating a new era.

But it's the most anticlimactic announcement ever. They ruined the hype and turned off more people than ever.

Idk but I did saw them. Let’s start for that time a manager was fired because he seemed to almost hit JK in a video, BTS lack of variety show appearances, when they overworked them in 2015 or even the fact that took them FOREVER to subtitle BTS fan content. I’m not saying they were the scum or anything, but because everything seemed to work out in the end people forget all bighit “mistakes”. Let’s not even talk about that one Jimin incident bighit took forever to address. Their creative team is great and I’ll give them all the credit for the amazing concepts they made for BTS, but at some point they just started milking HYYH and putting out things without not even an explanation, emeralds/highlight reels/the whole wormhole thing about time travel, you can literally see the members dgaf about any of that.

Ok I know I sound like a hater but I’m not, I don’t think these things affect the experience of keeping up with BTS if you’re really there for the music, it’s just some armys just forget about some things and imo if they realized that bighit have done plenty of questionable decisions they wouldn’t set up themselves for disappointment. And, obviously, I’m not saying I’d know better if I was in charge, I’m not a manager army, I’m purely pointing out things that fans seem to forget.

(Ok one last things, bighit subs suck and I don’t know why they do that)

  • PROOF could've been amazing if it had been a new album with a good, cohesive concept. An album that shows creativity. "Proof" that they can still release the quality music they did prior to 2021. As it is, it just feels like the wrong album at the wrong time and I'm not sure what exactly this haphazardly put together compilation is supposed to be proof of.

I just hope the new songs are decent.

  • I'm looking forward to the new songs and the demo versions of songs I already know. I don't focus on things I can't control, and I especially don't cry about it on the internet. But it is amusing to see people losing their shit over every little thing, kpop fans, endlessly comical.
