what are your honest thoughts about PROOF?

  • I saw many armys hyping it up to the sky

I saw many armys feeling disappointed - from the choice of tracks to the fact the content people have been anticipating the most will be available on CD only

i'm interested to see everyone's honest thoughts without the fear of being cancelled or labelled as an ungrateful twat or a company stan with sheep mentality for having an opinion that differs from the others.

  • What could have been a really beautiful Grammy level anthology + boxset experience seems like it’s just turning into another K-pop cash grab moment which is sad because you only really get one chance to do your greatest hits album correctly. I am hoping they will at least put this on vinyl later this year. The fact HYBE is too cheap to create a separate version for the UK charts speaks volumes about their mindset at the moment. Not a great look. No other major global act would find this acceptable.

  • Releasing an anthology album is fitting for a successful group like BTS but there is a better way to execute it.

HYBE could have included live versions, remixes and recording takes of their songs.

  • I'm not as much hyped as I thought I'd be for this comeback. I've a big feeling they put all the previous rejected songs in this unplanned album because some producers in the new songs don't even work for bts anymore. I'm sorry if I'm being grateful I love the boys but I'm not hyped.

ooh which ones? like melanie? lol

I agree overall though, it feels like a rush job which is the last thing you want something like this to be. Disc 2 also feels fairly pointless when those songs are primarily from their last two major albums/trilogies (even though I love these songs). In my opinion that second CD should have been for key songs like Baepsae, UGH, LTB, paradise and some of the songs that army have been dying to see receive any kind of recognition and that have been critically acclaimed — at least cypher pt 3 is there. They also could have put some of the singles that couldn’t fit on the first disc like Save Me and Mic Drop and Black Swan on the second. The third disc has interesting content but sadly they are gatekeeping it on CD although it probably will get released to streaming once the physical sales marathon is over. I do think opening the whole set with a Born Singer was an interesting move and would have liked to see more personal, revealing touches like that throughout instead of it feeling like an algorithm chose the tracks.

Tbh, I don't think the guys care that much either. It feels like they're just going in with the flow and mostly okay with hybe's business moves like making the whole CD 3 (except the new song) only CD-exclusive. As long as they are making money. Nothing wrong with it tho. The annoying part is how their stans romanticized everything like how that move is so intimate cause it's only for true armys and bts. Like, what? 😭 It's okay to admit that's it's to boost the sales and nothing else.

  • like everyone is saying, it feels like such a wasted opportunity to do something really important and big. they have mounds of songs and material that could've made this anthology really historical and special. instead, they're holding back to give it out in dribbles later. i'm sure a live album will come when bts is on hiatus and they'll put out an anthology pt 2 whenever it suits them, to wring more money from the fans. keeping one CD off streaming is such an idiotic move, like i can't even begin to understand it. fans are trying to make theories just to explain away hybe's failings, but it's clear that this is a move focused on making the most money from this "album"

  • It feels like something they had to put out and be done with it. Compilation of title tracks, some solos and some leftovers from old albums. It doesn't feel like any genuine thought went in to it. It is sad since this will probably be their last album for a long time. They probably want to focus on solo careers now, which is understandable

  • The only thing that annoys me is the cd only think. I don't see the point, people who were going to buy the album, were going to buy it regardless. And is not like ARMYS stream the cds.

Their stans? those 4-5 users that always known as company stan, that always use "just buy $20 album anyway if you think it's expensive"

when majority army on this site really disappointed with hybe decision to put CD3 exclusively.

I personally really hype at first, I know new songs coming, but really hold on to cd3 because its rumoured will be include unheard/unreleased demo, thats the meaning of anthology, right?

I even bought the album, but then it turns out CD3 exclusively on CD,

and there goes those 4-5 police army police everything here,

I am lying if I say I am not disappointed, I want to listen to the song comfortable with my current streaming platform, I want to buy the song legally, I don't want to watch and give my views to that lyric video.

  • i dont see how it would boost sales to make cd 3 cd only though

its probably because they dont want unreleased songs/demos on spotify

but we could bully them into changing their mind :pepe-narrow-eyes:

  • I didn't think much of it before the last announcement and was sort of excited for the unreleased demos even.

But yeah atp I agree it's a cash grab.

Also tired of the constant you're a company stan or you're not a good fan or you're entitled or you need to deal with how BTS want things.

ARMYs(speaking very generally) will always be BTS's biggest enemies in that sense. Just let fans be. Let them have opinions without being judgemental ass Karens for every little thing they say. People will double down on their opinions more negatively if they're constantly accosted for having them. Try to have more discussions maybe and understand each side better.

Also people can be fine with the release without being company Stans or being far up BTS's ass. Let people who don't see any problem with the release enjoy it without being called brainless sheeps.

Anyway moving to the album as always ARMYs come up with better things they could've done with the album than a multi million (or is it billion now?) dollar corporation. But what's new.

I'm looking forward to Born singer the most I love the BTS version a lot. But excited about anything else.

  • Disc 2 annoys me more than Disc 3 because the track list is just terrible. Did they really just randomly pick whatever songs they like, because there's no structure to the set, the tracks don't fit and aside from the solos, they somehow managed to pick everyone's least favourite songs of the last few years. Not even early era gems that maybe should get some more spotlight but literally just the least favourite songs of their biggest hit albums. Fans already know these songs, didn't like them as much in the first place, so they're telling us to listen again? Why is Stay always included in everything they do? It's never gonna be a fan favourite! They've never ever performed some songs, yet Stay is somehow on every single setlist ever. If "who asked for this" was a song, it'd be Stay.

I'm just gonna keep streaming the far superior subunits we got and should have been on this album.

  • Company stans are really something, imagine defending greedy companies like you life depends on it.

With all due respect to BTS,this whole era feels nothing more than a cash grab, I was still excited but CD 3?? How can anyone defend that??

  • ooh which ones? like melanie? lol

I think its better that they didn't put them on Spotify. Demos are not released for a reason.

They should've put debut era songs instead of Tear songs because most of the new fans don't even know /listen to them.

  • I never liked the idea. It killed the hype and honestly, despite the deep comments, I can't see how it will help their career.

So many fans are disappointed and not hyped anymore but if the goal was to attract the handful of local people who might check it out, then so be it.

Hybe found a great way to get a lot of money with the bare minimum effort. And the members' list on CD 2 added a bigger sentimental value to it. Some of the song choices are questionable, imo, but that's another story.

The demos are a nice touch but they could have been released on SoundCloud as a festa gift.

I don't think they are better than a new era that everyone was desperately waiting for.

More or less, it's the same people hyping this album here and the same people gets triggered if you complain.

  • I think its better that they didn't put them on Spotify. Demos are not released for a reason.

yeah, then let the stream goes to lyrics video, right?
for official song it has copyrighted to original artist, so the original artist will get the royalty. but I am sure all those demo song won't copyrighted on youtube, so those millions views from army or everyone who want to listen to 3rd CD will just go to lyrics video since its not available on Spotify.
    clever..
    whatever..
    I am tired
