In native English speaking communities it can be easier- Grandpa/ ma, uncle, auntie , cousin XXX would cover most of it I guess.
In Mandarin speaking communities its headache when you have a big family.

When people are asked how to addressed their auntie's daughter's 2nd cousin they need to make some teas and think it over.

Put in me as male / female , then father's/ mother's side, then press younger/ older brother( uncle), then son/ daughter( uncle's son/ daughter), then husband( uncle's daughter's husband) , then auntie...... and wala.
